WHO ARE SOME OF THE BEST DEFENSIVE COACHES IN THE STATE.ANY CLASS AND WHAT DEFENSE DO THEY RUN?

 

Matt Jones from Creek Wood. He is a big fan of the 4-4 and his teams are usually very stout (especially against the run). His success also speaks for itself as he's enjoyed plenty of it at all three of his stops (Sycamore, Fairview, & Creek Wood).

glen mcadams at lipscomb must know something about defense cause his teams have been some of the best defenses in the state last few years but will find out this week if that can hold against an unstoppable offense

I agree with you Big Country, Matt Jones is a great football coach (his record speaks for itself), but the current defensive coordinator at Fairview (Chris Whitefield) is also a great defensive mind. He is innovative switching from a 4-3 to a 3-4 this year and having positive results. The points aganist CPA and Goodpature were largely the results of turnovers by the offense (but what offense wouldn't struggle aganist those defenses), very well organized and and works hard.

I hardly call switching defenses from 4-3 to 3-4 innovative. innovative would imply trying something unusual and a 3-4 is hardly unusual.

I think Lamar Brown at MW does a good job with his guys. They struggled against MAryville, but that isn't an indicator of the overall job he does up in Morristown.

Coach keasler from sycamore currently at smyrna. Without a doubt one of the best defensive coaches in this state!

Terry Anderson from Overton. His defense rarely gives up a lot of points. Usually Overtons defense is one of the best in middle tennessee and he does it with average players. I know that this is a 1-3A page but its title is best in tn
