Congrats to Alcoa for their dismantaling of a good Goodpasture team, and for overall domination in every game this year. Some players played their last game, and some are headed to play on Saturdays. After the 2 early losses to Maryville and Fulton Alcoa has pulled together. A great season ended with a much deserved championship. Over the year many players stepped up to fill in the shoes of the 05 class. Next year more will have to step up, but I believe they can do it. Congrats again Alcoa, I believe 3 in four years may just be a dynasty.

Or 4 in 6 years. 2001, 2004, 2005, 2006.

Good job Alcoa.

That was 2000, not 2001............

Well, I'm sad to see a lot of the Alcoa Seniors play their last game for Alcoa. But what a run! I wish each and eveyone of them the best in their future.

23 Senior class that's a BIG group for Alcoa. Lot of holes to fill for next year, but a lot of great players coming! I expect to see Randall Cobb, Sam Thompson, Troy Hodges, and Brian Sommer do some BIG things next year! :thumb:

Also I will be excided to see this years big Freshman team develope. Also coming to the High school will be an explosive middle school team that went undefeated, with a 50-0 win over Maryville!

It's "re-load" time at Alcoa!

Again............THANK YOU SENIORS! You where an incredible bunch! :)

I am from Maryville and I was glad to see Alcoa do so well and represent Blount County as state champs once again. What an impressive football team. Their skill players rival anybodys. Does anyone back home know how many starters will return for this team? I am sure coach Rankin would do a good job if he had to rebuild but I was curious to know how the pipeline was stacked. Thnx

    • I have no issues with the Karns Middle School program.   Good coaches and he's with the kids he goes to school with.  He's a rising 6th grader who had to play with 6th grade kids last year because Karns didn't have enough kids for a 5th grade age team.  He's in a good place at this point.   My daughter is a single mom with 4 kids under 11 years old.  We help her out with logistics, so staying in our own area right now is important.  Once he gets to high school age, who knows what happens?  That bridge will be crossed when we get there.
    • I know he was a backup but I thought he filled in well when the starter went down. Never a bad thing to have a change of pace back
    • That would be a good get for them. Lowe always finds a way. Pretty sure they have their Rb from last year returning but not that line of beef
    • One school has said it, it was York…who Oneida and many school that played them before we did claimed that they were the dirtiest bunch they’ve played. Riverside didn’t call us dirty nor did smith after they beat us. Ur only dirty if your the one giving out the whoopins.
    • If it was anyone but #8 I would agree with you. Theirs a couple people on that team that probably would. Not him. And I who was standing on the 1st base line fence saw clearly that the boys foot was covering more than half the bag.
