What about former Marion County Assistant and current Lake County Head Coach David Barger. I believe he has family in the area and may be interested in returning.

Scotty Smith, an assistant at Soddy Daisy. He was the Defensive Coordinator of the year a couple of years for their region, the latest coming in Weathers first year at SD. He would be a great hire at either school.

If you want to spend a little money, any team that wants to win should go after Derrick Davis at Polk County. Not sure if he'd leave since he grew up there and has his dad as his assistant. Just imagine what he could do with a few real good athletes. Mike Martin or Clint Baker at Meigs County would also be real good hires.

Hubert Robertson or Johnny Boynton would be good hires. One is just finishing and the other is just getting ready to take our program to the next level

Windham is horrible...i hope LFO knows what they are getting, this is the same guy that last year ran the ball up the middle on 4th and 18. he is not a players coach it was all about his image. I hope for the LFO guys have better luck.

You obviously do not know Coach Windham. He is one of the nicest guys you would want to meet. He has probably helped more of his football players get to the college level than any other coach in this area. He has had one or more players each year sign a college scholarship. You seem to have some personal reason you do not like Coach Windham; that shouldn't be addressed on this thread.

I do know him. And he is a nice guy, but he is not a good coach. At least he hasn't proven that yet. I hope the best for his future players. But watching him at Hixson shows that he doesn't know how to run a program yet.

regaurdless of who applies, if he is unable to connect with the current players and the other athletes in the school, as did our Coach, they will continue to struggle. we need someone who cares about the all of the kids, football or not. just like coach did. he would treat everybody like they were important.

 

Just to give you an example, I was as bad of a player that ever played the game. I was lucky to play on special teams, But coach made me and all the players feel like we were the top stud on the field. he also made a group of young men believe that they could compete with anbody and everybody in the state, including maryville.

 

As a side note my favorite quote he made while we were in school was prior to the Maryville playoff game. coach said we were going to "hit them in the mouth". For those of you that were there we hit them in the mouth all night long, Because we belived in coach and he belived in us when none else ever would.

 

Please find us someone that would make coach proud!!
