No, I would guess that it wasn't discussed between schneitman and U until Thursday/Friday, but thats nothing i know factual. I think they will name an interim coach for spring practice so the search isn't rushed. But I also heard from someone that a couple of school board members were high on Gut being coach, take that for what it's worth. Just rumor.

 

If they are gonna keep it local and not take a serious look at every candidate, Garry Jett would be a good pick IMO. But im a firm believer they should go out and get the best candidate and not get in any rush.

 

Wonder if they will contact any of the homegrown talent that is now in the coaching ranks? Like Erik Hutchins, who has been mentioned, Rocky Riley at Alcoa, Spencer Riley OL at West Georgia College, Richie Wilhite D coord. at William Blount, Trey Ondrus QB's at siegel High, or Lamar Brown or Joe Case, both at Mo. West. Several names with Jeff. Co. ties that are all good young coaches.

What about David Cagle, Cartersville HS, Chuck King HC in GA w/ successful college experience? How about Joe Pinkerton who did a good job in state game for Maryville? Not sure if we need to bring anybody back from Meadows regime due to serious lack of discipline on that team. If we are going to consider asst. coaches you have to look @ Gary Jett who has had a solid career.

I know both Chuck King and Joe Pinkerton, and both would be excellent choices - Have known both for years, but don't know if either are interested in leaving there current positions. They may be happy where they are..... I guess current income compared with what JCHS could offer would be the sticking point. Stay tuned. Whoever gets the position needs everyone's support......

Thats because you don`t know me, I never wanted it to get to this point. Stability is a very good thing for a program, unlike what some would have people believe I did not root for Euverard and Jeff County as a program to fail from the moment he got to JC. I wanted things to go well, however when it became clear that things weren`t going well, to point that it got, I felt strongly that a change needed to happen. Elated is not a good word to describe my feeling right now about the coaching situation, especially since we don`t know who will be coaching next season, so close to next season. Jeff County is in a very precarious position, at a critical time. I`ll be elated when we have good coach in place, and things within the program are starting to improve.

Fake....Imitation....Wannabe.....That is what you are JC(not real)4life. You know nothing about the program except only what rumors that are passed on to you. For all users that think this "JC4life" can get you the latest on the "inside" of JC sports, program, County...etc...whatever, you need to think again. True, you may hear things and post them before anyone else does, but as far as being an "insider" or "important"....you are not. Your opinions do not matter, nor most of the others on this site. This site should be called "rumor central" or "I think I know cause my buddy told me so". DZ can help anybody that has a serious question. I know this because I know him. Thank you, and good bye. Well even though I dont know you, thanks lol. But DZ is going to refrain from offering anymore opinions because it always seems to upset someone even if its minor and since everyone knows who I am anyway....blah blah so Ill just pass along what I know from now on.

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!

      I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
