My apologies to Mr. Henley

You don't really need to find out

What's going on

You don't want to know just how far its gone

Just leave well enough alone

Keep your dirty laundry

Kick 'em when they're up

Kick 'em when they're down

Repeat

Dirty little secrets

dirty little lies

We got our fingers in everybody's pies

We love to cut you down to size

We love dirty laundry

We can do the innuendo

we can dance and sing

When it's all over we haven't

told you a thing

We all know that crap is king

Give us dirty laundry

Kick em when they're up

Kick em when they're down

Repeat

It is amazing that Don Henley could write a song about the MBA situation (and the posts of several on here) twenty years before this actually happened. :thumb::ph34r::blink:

Geez, you guys are making MBA look bad.

This is funny.

Thank You!

Go Wolves!!!!!!!

Well done, scoop. Nice post for a finale. Loser, chump....I guess when you've been exposed ("JR can't be controlled"/"you don't fire a coach for interviewing for another job"), name calling is all that's left.

Exposed, no, but you have, as you have digressed to gutter talk, ie Deep Throat, you never said which one. Continue to jingle the change in his pockets defend and at all costs. You have left your morals at the door.

The facts are what they are.

Next time you see the Head Man, tell him hello. Oh I forgot, he caught the first bird to Brittain...Oh well, when he gets back, tell him hello from all of us, including alumni and non-alumni... thumb:

I can only imagine what Coach Bennett would say to all of this.....

My apologies. I didn't think it needed clarifying, but I obviously overestimated my audience. I meant the Deep Throat from Watergate--Felk--and not the porn movie. Kind of a poke at your ability to "scoop" a story. Sorry to have offended, thought you would get it.

Got it and asked for clarification, however it took the next day to clarify it was Felk. This would not be a scoop. A scoop is beating everybody to the punch with information. I was afraid you were watching the old movies and getting excited.

WOW.......this is bigger than the BA/Tom Moore situation several years ago!!!!!!! :thumb:

What happened to Tom Moore was not right. Tom Moore is a good man and has landed on his feet nicely being an owner of the Smoothie King. Words can't describe that horrible situation. Lies and knives in the back is the closest thing you could say.

The biggest disapointment out of all those people you mention is Damon Regen. Ricky - while a great coach - did not run the program with the school's true mission at heart. If he'd had his way he'd have changed the motto to athlete athlete athlete.

Gioia genuinely cares for the students. He's done a few things wrong and he's ticked off his fair share of people, but in his position it is positively impossible to please everyone. I don't know what jobs Gioia has interviewed for but I know that there have been at least as many or more that he has turned down.

This is off the subject of this thread, but I feel the need to respond to the statement about Ricky Bowers (the "athlete, athlete, athlete" quote) above. The statement is, in my opinion, totally inaccurate and really unfair to Ricky and to MBA. A couple of facts should make my point. Ricky's teams sent at least 6 players to the Ivy League during his time at MBA. The tri captains of his best team (1999) ALL went to Yale. All three played football for four years, all three graduated in four years. A large number of Ricky's other players went to Ivy League and other top tier schools but didn't play football. At least two other players during Ricky's time, Hunter Hillenmeyer and Will Bartholomew were admitted to Princeton, but turned it down to play for Vanderbilt and Tennessee, respectively. Both graduated in four years after solid football careers. Ingle Martin was a good enough student to have been heavily recruited by Penn when he transferred from Florida. The average SAT score of the offensive line of Ricky's first state championship football team in 1998 was 1350. As another way to think about the question, let's look at the players who scored touchdowns in the Clinic Bowl for the three consecutive state championship teams Ricky had in 1998,1999 and 2000. That would seem to be a decent proxy for who his stud skill players (the ones you'd lower requirements for if MemorialMagic's statement had any truth in it) were. Where did those guys go to college? I saw all three games, but its been a while and my memory isn't perfect, but I think I can get close--- How's this list---Yale,UNC, Vanderbilt, Florida, Yale, Davidson, Virginia,Vanderbilt, Vanderbilt and Vanderbilt. Not a bunch of schools for dummies. Achieving success doesn't necessarily mean somebody cut corners. Ricky ran the program at MBA in the very best traditions of the school and its mission. To say otherwise simply reflects ignorance of the facts.

Folks,

The Headman is back in town and incensed. Can not believe everybody is not behind him 100%. I guess the toxic fumes from flying across the country got to him. Anyway, back at school and heading up this national search committee. I understood Bill Parcells resigned from Dallas and would be interested.....NOT...can't control the Big Tuna. Jerry Jones found this out. Keep searching and come back around, the next guy is just around the corner. Now I would call this a Big Step Up!!!!!

Beckham from England would not come & coach football because he is wanting a movie career. Can you see the Spice Girls in Music City USA? Also heard the Headman talked to Austin Powers but was turned down, not even the English Secret Service can control him. Oh beeehavee Baby! :thumb:
