Who is going to nab mvp for district 7-AA this year? Im seeing either Dunn from LA or Upperman's point guard...#10 i think. Like the standings though, this is wide open. I think Bass from Dekalb should be in this discussion also.

Dunn is probably the front runner. Nixon for Smith County should be considered. According to the Tennessean website, Nixon is the number 2 scorer in the district behind Dunn and the number two 3 point shooter in the district behind Kemp of Macon. It seems that Nixon has to guard the top player for each team Smith County plays and gets very little rest. No stats that I'm aware of but I would bet that Nixon has more rebounds than Dunn. It is for MVP and not top scorer.

Good arguement there. Nixon does have to guard the best player usually for the other team, does a good job of guarding them to, and does most of our scoring. He does a good job of doing what the coaches ask him to do. The one downfall that will hurt him is that people will say look at his teams record. In which most people like the MVP to come from the #1 or #2 teams. I'm not saying he should get it, but he could be a possibility, but I think definitly a first teamer.

What about Stockton from York? Not to change the subject, but what is S-T-I-N-S-O-N doing these days? I here C-A-T-E-S is struggling at Princeton. By the way, dctigerfan07 should go ahead and quit school and get a job since he obviously doesn't go to class and doesn't have a clue about b'ball!!

From what I hear Cates is doing very well at Princeton. However, I am sure many people are wanting him to do poorly. He should get alot more playing time next year..

Well i look at it this way. Stinson was the most valuable player in the district. Noone could stop him.

Muffin is right. It is just spilt milk now.. But I think that Cates and the rest of the Cats held him in check.. on 3 different nights...

So where is Stinson now???

Oh, Well. I guess sometimes the truth hurts! If I recall correctly you're the one who referred to a player as a BEAST! and you call me ignorant. HA! HA!

adam_10 must be his buddy or is from macon, glad to see yall learnt how to spell, surprised you can read, its still pronounced the same idiot, but i think you get the picture dont you, and its a legit complaint because all of a sudden they had to revote, kinda weird aint it

First of all, it is not a legitimate complaint because if you knew what you were talking about you would know that it was not a revote! It was a RECOUNT! That is an entirely different thing. They recounted because they messed up, and after the recount, K-A-T-E-S (since it is pronounced the same) was not even second! He was fourth! Stinson was first, and then Monday (from Livingston) and someone else recieved more votes than Mr. Cates! Get all the information before you start whining!

    • Im more of a Basketball follower than football and like I said we play what we have, there is no going and recruiting or even talking kids into transferring…..and to rebut about Memphis teams in finals I’ve watched Memphis East and Penny Hardaway with the enrollment of a single A team play up and dominate any and all challengers for years! They aren’t the only ones either Mike Miller and son at Germantown put together that super team a couple years ago that ran through the rest of the state! Other teams from Memphis or Chatt or Nash or any large populated area pop up and are relevant out of nowhere every year because they get an influx of talent be it from a new coach or AAU affiliations it happens in football also just like any other sport! I hope these two schools that close join together and get to play the team you support, then you may see it differently! I find it funny some of you think recruiting and resources don’t matter . The county schools get very little funding also but you don’t want to get me started on that part!
    • No doubt. ORC a good dude.
    • In a total classless move, Coach Simmons once again shows his true colors. Waits till the day after school is out to let everyone know he is leaving. Fails up to a community college job after a lackluster 2 year span at GH. And do not tell me about the state run that saved a sub .500 season and plenty of whippings by Cookeville and Lebanon.  Looks like the girls job at GH is cursed. Terrible MS program/coaches feeding what is turning out to be a joke of a HS team.
