Smyrna Baseball

Do ya'll think Smyrna can get out of the slump of not getting out of the district this year?? They have some very very very good pitching in maybe one of the best in the state in Sonny Gray and they also have the left handed pitcher of the year from that district coming back as the #2 and Timothy Egerton has proven he will be the #3.. they are very strong in the pitching and Defense.. But still remember they play in if not the hardest one of the hardest districts period so what do you think??

Only way it will ever happen is if you get rid of the "big guy in charge". He has had better teams than this and they have all won their preseason schedule (cupcakes) then the district comes and they get in trouble.

CHANGE IS NEEDED! Really hope they can do well because Smyrna has a great, talented group of players, but until the "big guy" is gone, don't see it .... SORRY!

(AAA pretty tought what about Hville, Mt Juliet, Beech, and Wilson Central (are they inthere?)

i have heard that yalls defensive coordinator is helping this year with baseball. is this true. if so then yall have just added a good coach.

Sonny is truly great, but you can't ride him for the whole season. He can't pitch every game. Did Smyrna lose a bunch of seniors last year?

the pitching for smyrna will be led by RHP grey and LHP Rhodes with edgerton leading the defence behind them, but they play in a tough district with teams like mt juliet, beech, and hendersonville....this will definatly be the district to watch. my vote is beech and mt juliet making it out of the district

Absolutely!!!!!!!! If Smyrna keeps screwing around Middleton WILL find a job somewhere else. I know for a fact he has ties to Oakland. I would love to see him there!!!!! He also has ties to Riverdale. But smyrna may have the best assistant coach in the the state!! He can recruit kids...from the hallways, not from other schools. and gets along great with the kids. If you can't get along with him as a player, YOU have a problem!!!

 

So if by some strange reason Butch Vaughn is reading these posts, HIRE SHAWN MIDDLETON NOW!!!!! FOOTBALL, BASEBALL, BASKETBALL he can help out all these sports!!! Oh yeah, he lives close to oakland,too
