It all depends on what happens tonight when LV plays at Sale Creek:

Here's the standings:

1. CSAS (locked)

2. SP (locked)

3. RH (very sure a lock, has margin of victory tie-breaker over Sale Creek, and has a victory over South Pittsburg)

4. Sale Creek (even if they win, puts them in a tie with RH, see above)

5. Whitwell (if SC wins, they stay put at 5th, if LV wins they go to 6th)

6. Lookout Valley (again, see above for Whitwell)

If Sale Creek wins tonight:

LV vs. RH winner play SP

Sale Creek vs. Whitwell winner plays CSAS

Coaches' meeting I believe is Wedensday to set the dates and times in stone, and also to nominate Coach of the Year, All-District, MVP.

The only team that has a chance to do any damage in the post season is CSAS everyone else has no hope. CSAS should have the player of the year and Coach of the year. If they win Tuesday night vs. South Pittsburg then they will have gone undefeated in the district over the last two years and own a 22 game winning streak vs. district opponents. You can't argue with that.

Yes no arguing with that. They are a good team. It will be hard for someone to beat them.

It will be hard, very hard, for someone in the district to beat them (I assume that's what you meant), but that's as far as they'll go. District 5 will rule the Region once again.

Here's how it'll end up (I think):

1. CSAS (Dominant...in the district)

2. South Pittsburg (Will probably get to the championship game again)

3. Richard Hardy (I predicted it; You're welcome Hawk fans)

4. Sale Creek (Look out, could cause some trouble in the tourney!)

5. Lookout Valley (Down this year, but not to be overlooked)

6. Whitwell (6th only because there's not a 7th place)

I think CSAS will make it past the region by beating Grace in the region semifinals.

Who's the player of the year? All-District 6-A from each team? Coach of the year?

It has got to be Coach Dragoo from CSAS winning 22 straight in the district. MVP is either Dontay Hampton or Hassan Cobb from CSAS. The other member of the all-district team from CSAS is Brian Ball.

I would have to agree with RH coach being coach of the year. CSAS was suposed to be right where they are at the top. But RH was to have been at the bottom. CSAS is still the better team by far but coach of the year should be RH coach.

The only reason RH is where they are is because the teams are so bad. A good coach would not let some of the stuff fly that goes on up there.

    • What you are saying is true about high school athletics being a privilege and not a right, but NO ONE ever knows what will happen if a case goes before a jury.  Again, I have been in a couple of jury rooms and it's always a little crazy.  That is why my prediction is you will see a settlement before the case goes to trial.
    • What rules does everyone not operate by?
    • So you want a have and have not split? Sound like the perfect ramp to elitism. Tell those rural kids that they'll never be able to compete with those urban kids. They're not good enough right? Or we could just do what travel baseball does and have tournaments every weekend and give kids big fake rings for winning a few games. The suburban public schools are typically the ones with more funds. Urban and rural schools have more in common in finances than they do with rural schools. I've taught and coached in all of it. The difference is attitude. But if you're jsut going to say you can't compete because you don't have the money then that's an excuse. Especially in basketball. The balls are the same size, the rims are the same height and size. The ball dribbles the same in some rural gym in mountains as it does in the FedEx forum. Charters come and go like a fart in the wind. They are no real threat to anyone. Magnets could be but rarely do they win either. It just hasn't been seen in Tennessee.
    • That’s a good line. Wins would be Soddy, Howard, and Ooltewah. Maybe East Ham again or Knox Central. Tyner maybe but being that late in the year it’s hard to say. I don’t think we get by Red Bank this year.    Rhea could be anywhere from 2-8 to 6-4.
    • I agree with the Farragut and Bradley claim. Those will both be wins. Bearden like you say is depending on when you get them in comparison to when the wheels fall off.  As far as West goes I’m 50-50. They have been able to reload so far so until they show me they haven’t I can’t count them out.
