Hixson vs. Howard and CCS vs. East Ridge ...Does anyone know the times of these games? Hixson is peaking and should've beaten Howard in their previous match-ups..In the first Hixson hit below 33% on FT's to lose narrowly..Sould be a good game..ER got lucky with CCS beating ND...ER should overpower CCS and rest Jurick and Wells for the Championship

East Ridge will play Chattanooga Christian at 4:30est, and Howard will play Hixson at 7:30est tomorrow night 2/17 at Hixson.

Sequatchie lost 72-35. Not a good performance by Seq, even considering the opponent was a pretty good Hixson team playing at home. 44-18 at half. Bad way to end the year for a team with six seniors, four and sometimes five of those starters and main reserves but they did have some good moments this year especially after starting the season 1-12. Beat the valley opponents two times each, split with Notre Dame and Chattanooga Christian, took Hixson into overtime and played pretty well both games against East Ridge. Also led Greeneville at the half but couldn't stop Wiggins, one of the state's best players. Like I said in another post, they'd have been better off finishing sixth instead of fifth and playing Notre Dame, that's how a coin toss made the matchups turn out.

Why is Hixson (the 3 seed) playing Howard (the one seed)? Should it not be 2 vs 3 and 1 vs 4/5 winner?

 

This is how every tournament I am aware of is set up.

 

Anyway, Region 3AA is now set for the participants.

 

District 6 - Howard, East Ridge, Hixson, and CCS

 

District 5 - Brainerd, Tyner, Boyd Buchanan, and Tellico Plains

hixson is the 4 seed..ND was the 3 seed..they tied and ND won the coin flip

District 5AA and 6AA are good tournaments. Should be a fun region next week

Big win for the Chargers of CCS. Can they hang with the Pioneers.... that all depends on Wells. Hixson-Howard should be interesting. Taylor did not play for Howard last night... not sure what's up with that.

 

Can all the region 6-AA teams play with the best of Region 5-AA. I know Howard took it to Brainerd and they are the top seed in 5-AA. Should be an interesting region tournament.

...They will have to deal with the Tyner "RAMS" as well...Howard ran thru 6-AA, beat Brainerd twice(the 2nd time was a thumping)...but split with Tyner...losing 36-32 @ Tyner and winning 64-60 @ Howard......we will have to wait and see how the Championship game on Tuesday night is decided between the "Rams" & "Panthers"...it should be a very interesting in Region 3-AA.
