LA fans- get ready for an up tempo style of play when you play BTW /ohmy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" /> They'll apply some pressure in the full court but extend the defense in the half court and will trap and cause problems for the team's guards.. Westview had a horrible shooting night at BTW and only made 2 3-point baskets out of 15 or so attemtps.. By contrasts BTW attempted over 30 free throws and made around half of them- so not that great of a free throw shooting team. Tucker is a handful on the interior and Hughes is one of the quicker guards to come out of Memphis /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

BTW is a quality club- but if LA can handle the pressure and control tempo, they should be okay.. Good Luck ! /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Just going by information found on this website, BT Washington has only played 1 team all season that had a strength rating in the top 10 which was Westview and that was in the sub-state game. Westview was #5 and BT got to the state by beating them. No one else that they whipped all season had a strength rating of below 25th. LA is #6 in strength. LA can win this game. It will be close I think. I am going to pick LA by 3 points.

As long as the ball doesn't have 25 pounds of air in it and is an indoor ball, LA will be ok. Better worry about the two wide bodies down in the post as they proved they can score around the basket........

 

Actually looking forward to seeing if BTW is for real or if Substate was a fluke.......pretty sure they are for real. Should be a good game.

Did you check on the teams that BTW beat in California? The SOS doesn't mean a whole lot. If it did, BTW wouldn't have beaten Westview. This is tournament time so stop relying on the SOS to determine how good or bad a team is. BTW by 6.... /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

I wasn't able to find the strength stuff for the California teams. Yeah, I know you can throw all the stuff about strength and all when its tournament time. Hog-Eye is a tough team, BTW will find that out. BTW has not been thru the wash like LA has.

LA's quickness should balance out BTW's wide body post play unless they are 6'8" like the Farris girl from Smith Co. They didn't fare too well against her this year but still won the games.

      Is there not enough Maryville people on the School board who can stop this?  I am no Alcoa fan by any means but I will say this. I guarantee you the Bledsoe,Marsh,Tyson,Warren,Kellog and Suddereth families wouldn't allow outsiders to take control of Alcoa High School.

      Colton Faust played a lot as a freshman. I look for Julius Douglas to do well. I would love to have seen Thomas Manu stay at Maryville and play receiver. What has hurt Maryville the last 2 years is not having those outstanding skill players at WR and DB. There has been no AJ Davis or Kelby Brock type receiver at Maryville the last few years.

      I see your point on the timing of when you play Alcoa.  I did not think West would reload after winning it the first time and they did. A three peat is hard for sure but until they stop it hard to pick against them. I was told they had 107 returning players(rising soph-SR) from at their banquet
