Who is the best shortstop in AAA in Middle TN

RJ Rayborn at Overton, started as a sophomore last year and had one of the highest batting averages on the team (.436)

AAA shoudn't matter, good ones are Mitch Cox, Blackman, MoMo Stewart, Cascade, good second baggers are Trey Thompson, Clarksville and Levi Bain, Cascade. Hard to beat all these in the middle and they are muti dimensional.

Jacob Smith at Antioch High has been starting since his freshman year and has already set one school record for fielding with 10 assist in a game vs Hunters Lane. May set more before he graduates and he is only a Junior this year.

The two best (you could flip a coin) are Corbin Joseph (Franklin High School & Franklin Summer Team) & Cole Gobel (Father Ryan & Hit after Hit). Both of these players have been starting since their Freshmen year for very solid high school programs and Gobel was the starting SS for Hit after Hit last season. These are two very special players that have skills beyond their 2008 status. If you had to rank them it would be very difficult:

 

Arm: Joseph

Glove: Gobel

Speed: Gobel

Hit for Power: Joseph

Hit for Average: even

These two are not in AAA but are most definately amond the best in the state. Chase Birdwell SS Harpeth/Trevecca and Cory Hale Harpeth/Columbia St. They are so smooth together in the middle and both are excellent hitters at the plate. If you get the chance you should watch them play, you will be impressed both defensively and at the plate.

Matt is a solid player but trust me he is not where Joseph (Franklin) & Goble (Father Ryan) are at this stage in his career. Joseph could very well be drafted, has received letters from everyone & Goble has been invited for Junior Day by schools from the SEC, Conference USA, Pac 10, ACC, Big East conferences. The pro scouts know these two players.
