From a basketball perspective, Jackson usually has one good basketball school and one good football school each year. For years the basketball alternated between Northside and Southside while the dominant football school was JCM. Then, along came Liberty. Jackson has a north and south side??? /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

The closest schools are JCM, Liberty, and Madison Academic. Most of Rose Hill will go to Liberty......there are some that won't be able to. There are zone's....if you live in a certain zone you have to go to the school in that zone. Unless you register your child to go to a magnet school ( of your choice) and their name is picked from a lottery by an independent agency. Unless you register your child to go to a magnet school ( of your choice) and their name is picked from a lottery by an independent agency. so everyone who tries to get into liberty has their names put in a lottery. so say the best middle school player in the county doesnt get his name pulled in the lottery, he cant go to liberty? or do the coaches get him in? Not the coaches, principles, superintendent, road commissioner, not even me. My advise to that students parents would be.....move into the zone. Keep in mind that it could change when the racial unbalance numbers get off.
ScoutingReporter
Liberty Tech Is Very Difficult to get in if you are not Zoned. Liberty is Crowded and people are moving into the zone just to get their children in...

Absolutely.....if you want your kids meeting in classes under stairwells and closet, storage rooms and baseball dugouts, just to play a sport there......that's the school for you. icecold06
I dont understand the big fuss it's a magnet school just like any other magnet school in the world people from different parts of town are eligible to go there usually based on a criteria, most magnet schools are also excellent academically and they are supposed to attract the best students in that particular city, magnet schools are not created to make their sports programs better, so even if no one in Liberty's starting five live within ten miles of the school there should be no red flags raised because it is perfectly legal for them to go there
