But...

On the other hand the kid was dominating the Rutledge hitters in the first game that PF won 15-2. He went six innings and they only scored two runs. I guess the coach could have thought "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" because in the second game he went five scoreless before he was pulled. Pf then brought in a freshmen lefty that Rutledge couldn't hit either.

No way coach was going to get by with pitching the young man 11 innings.

i was also at the game, the kid had a good pitching performance. he didn't have much velocity and had the rutledge batters out front all day. they could not wait on it, and it was very disturbing to see. i've seen them hit faster pitchin all over the ball field. the saddest thing to see was the umpires didn't know that there was a rule against it. the umpires should know the rules more than anyone but there were numerous people there including me who knew that you could not pitch more then 10 innings in 2 days without a 24 hour rest period. hopefully it will get better next year.

QUOTE(SCARfan1624 @ May 11 2007 - 05:43 PM) 826457537[/snapback]Oh I know rules are rules and as soon as it happened I knew they would be penalized. I just think it is humorous that Rutledge tried to beat PF with a technicallity because they couldn't beat them by playing the game. It shows thier character.

i think it is humourus that you dont have a problem with them breaking rules to play..then why have rules?

Put the blame where the fault lies. The PF coach violated well stated pitching rules. If it was intentional, shame on him. If he made a mistake, lesson learned.

I feel sorry for his kids. The pitcher in question did not have to pitch that many innings for PF to beat an inferior Rutledge team.
