in d2, Christian Brothers has to be mentioned along with, im sure, baylor, father ryan, bga, and possibly even briarcrest. (though im completely biased)

in aaa, im going with bartlett...especially with that short porch all the way around, tall fence or not, with the guys in their lineup, big numbers should come readily next season for the panthers. guess well just wait and see.

a and aa, there arent any strong teams in those divisions in the memphis area that i am aware of, so i wouldnt know where to begin.

I believe Bartlett will have the strong team in AAA again. I had them in the first round and the championship game and its been a long time since I saw a team that can hit the ball like they do. I believe you will see them in the AAA championship game again next year!

QUOTE(montague1 @ May 31 2007 - 12:04 PM) 826469622Lexington's loss one starter of this years squad. The pitching staff returns. And after stellar sophomore and junior seasons, Billy Keck will be bigger and stronger for his senior season.

Lexington should be very tough to beat next year, returning 2 stud pitchers in keck and rich and a batting line-up that can smash 1-9, watch out for lexington next year

You call Rich a stud pitcher? WOW. Yea he did alright through the regular season but you saw what happened when he got to the big stage in Murfreesoboro. Lexington out did their selves this year but they did show a lot of guts in the postseason so they should be pretty good again.

QUOTE(GARGANTUAN @ May 30 2007 - 01:06 AM) 826468962ok some private schools are weak but The strong outweighed the weak by far.......but enough bout that before we get the thread moved...

How many public schools charge 7k for a school year to attend. Looks to me you cut your options down greatly. I grant you most people who can afford 7k to attend a school can also pay for pitching and batting lessons. That's the reason some are better than others. THEY ALL WORK AT IT. Not just two or three players on the team.

9-1 in his first year of high school ball is pretty darn good. He's got next year to make up for his lose in the state tournament.

They should be pretty good next year. Theres a lot of days in between now and then though. They return 3 All-West Tennessee picks in Rich, Keck, and Dale Kizer.

They also have The Jackson Sun's Coach of the Year in Terry Odle. I just hope that we can keep him here to return to coach this team next year. They guy has no field, no indoor facility, and no assistant coach. Theres a guy with college and minor league experience ,not to he's probably the best player ever to play at LHS, begging to help Olde out but the school administration stands in the way yet again. A coach as good and young as Odle won't be around long under those circumstances.

McKenzie only loses one starter this year and returns a team that is going to be solid. Their #1 pitcher will be Clint Kee who as of right now is 5-0 in American Legion Baseball in Kentucky. He has beaten the Memphis Tigers twice this season and beat Vincennes (#2 team in the state of Indiana on Sun). Also you have Parker Jones, 6'5" Junior Tyler Holt, Lefty Nick Chappel. Plenty of depth in their pitching staff. They had a team batting average of .365 this year and that is a little higher than the team that won State in 06. They were an inexperienced team this year after losing 8 starters for the 06 season but they still went to sub-state. I predict they will go all the way in 08.

DCA is takin state in AA next year. They only lost 2 seniors and one of those seniors was injured for the last half of the season anyways. Their ACE pitcher is returning along with several others that are hard to handle. Everyone on this team is hard working and everyone underestimated them this year. Next year they will come back much stronger and surprise everyone again

    • I don't believe they have anyone that is surbers caliber but a decent staff overall.
    • Richland plays at McKenzie on Wed.  Should be a good series.  Does Richland have good pitching?
    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
    • I heard Alabama was at Antioch practice and Colorado has offered QB. Hoping the Bears have a great year.
