That depends on who you ask. Truthfully they are a 3-7, maybe 4-6 ball club at best. Some say they are much better than that and I hope they are correct. But for someone that has been watching them for a long time that is unfortunately not the case. The boys are not in shape, and have not been hitting the weights like they need to to be better than that. They have some talent and some kids with some athletic ability, but they are not in the condition to be contenders for this region or to be better than a 500 ball team. Maybe other teams in the area are down and we can catch a break or two and pull off a 6-4 season. And again I hope I am way wrong and we are playing deep into the playoffs, but I am not. And time will soon tell.

warrior4ever and bchswar.... If you wanna see how hard they work then show up at a practice and watch them instead of get on here behind a screenname and criticize them.... Better yet if you think you could do better go to college and get your teaching degree and coach them your self that way everyone can get on here and criticize you... Its not even the start of the season yet and all ya'll have done is down them...

Good Luck to the boys in Blue........... Anyone heard anything about young players, or players that are much improved from last year? I am looking foward to some full contact scrimages, it's always a little different with the pads on...... Any freshman really comming on thus far in the 7 on 7's?

Good Luck Warriors!!!!!!!!!!! BCW

Freshman: Derick Smith looked good last Friday. Gould has good hands. I am not sure if he is playing, but Gibbons is a athlete, I hope he plays.

Sophmore: Brown has looked good and I expect him to be alot of fun to watch on Friday nights. Harvey has looked good at defensive back, and Reyes is a good player.

Also I saw coach Davis working with the lineman by the baseball field, while the 7 on 7 was taking place.

I have no desire to start teaching or coaching at this stage of my life. However, as far as going to college, I hold more than one degree and I would venture to say I was out of school with my degree before you were born. So please do not start to mention the level of education of those of us on here unless you are interested in a spelling contest or a lesson on how to use correct grammer. But once again, as I have stated many times, I mean no offense with any post on this or any other thread, I just state the facts. And again, I hope I am way wrong about the team this year and we are playing deep into the playoffs.

I hate to hear that, I never thought th Co-op would close, oh well they had a good run.

too funny

I would have loved to coach football and would still love to coach. However, it might interfere with my time being a grandparent. However, please don't insult my intelligence or my loyalty to the "Big Blue". I have been supportive or the program for many years and despite not liking some of the things that have gone on continue to pay my money every Friday as long as my health holds up. When you have played, won, watched your children play and grandchildren play then you can discuss what I know about football in Bledsoe County. Until then keep playing Nintendo and occasional touch football games in your backyard. Keep your stats and post them here

I think you and I are cut from the same mold. Also, we must be from about the same era. Keep up the good work. Go Big Blue.

By no means am I questioning either of your education and loyalty to BC sports.... But its hard for a coach to be successful and keep his head up if before his first season as a head coach he's already got fans writing him off as not a good coach, etc.... Well I don't have kids yet, so therefore I have no grandkids... Considering I graduated in '04 and gave all I had to warrior football and then some.... You two must be loyal fans or niether of you would know all the people that played over two decades ago.... I just get sick of people saying that we're gonna be 3-7 or 4-6 at best and the season hasn't even started yet... Coach Roberson will do just fine...

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
