GO REGION 6!!...i played against MTCS last year and they were a tough team, but i've also scrimmaged them twice this year once in the spring and about 3 weeks ago...and they have fell off largely in my opinion since last year..they also look like they have alot of inexperience and i think Perry Co. will take advantage of it

Derek Parnell plays lead guitar for Stephen Cochran. Think he might have played middle school ball for you? The story is, he got interested in the guitar at a middle school football lock-in, when Warren Bates brought his, and Derek taught himself to play. He's really good. I'll e-mail you the press release, it has all the info.

Derek did play for me. He was a pretty good Kid. Glad to see him doing well.

Good Luck Tonight Vikings!!!

mtcs 28 perry county 17 PC It was an entertaining game with plenty of momentum shifts. Glad that no one was injured from either team and now both can concentrate on region foes. Good luck to the Vikings and Cougars.

any stats for this game?

Haven't been able to find any anywhere. I can tell you Kicker got one field goal; Cole had one TD; not really sure who made to two point conversion; and I think Jacolby Hubbard got the other TD. Forrest had one interception. As far as passing yards, rushing yards or tackles, I don't know.

I dont' know how, they'll do this year, but what I saw Friday night, the Quarterback, Forrest Boutwell went 3 for 5 with over 60 yards passing, with a 1 TD (28 yds) pass. Intersepted MTC in the secound quarter, he ran it back 37 yards, and then had two unassisted sacks, 1 tackle and 2 assist ( He also plays, free safety) Cole Campbell, ( Cornerback / Wingback) had 2 receptions, 1 for TD, 3 tackles, Michael Barrnet( Kicker/Tight end), had 1 field goal,1 recetion for 5 yards, Jacobe Hubbard (Fullback/Middle Linebacker), russed for over 40 yards , with 1 TD, Chris Reed (Wingback/Middle Linebacker), had well over 60+ yards rushing, at least 5-6 tackles, Dakota Qualls (Fullback), had several good runs. There where some problems with defense, yet there will be this early in the season, the team is young! There are only 5 Seniors.

Nobody should, count these guys out just yet, they might surprise all of the Critic's!!!!!!!!

Good Job Vikings, keep building, the team together, you'll get there!

GO Vikings!

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
