The loss of Collie was crucial to the 'Topper defense domination. His replacement will be key in there ability to sustain the lockdown between the tackles that they were able to accomplish. Terrible injury for a young man so early in the season.

Keep your eye on M-W's play this Friday night . Maybe they have their

problems ironed out. They will put points on the board if they can hold

on to the ball. The big question for them is whether their defense can

stop Cherokee. You would think with 100 players to choose from last

year and this year M-W would be prepared to play by the third game.

I believe this will answer your question about the Science Hill game. M-W

gave the Jeff Co game away with turn overs ---I don't know whether

the coaches were trying different players as this was an out of Conference

game.

Okay . . . I think it is time to talk about this one, although Mo. West is 1-2 this week.

This game will be played on the artificial turf at Morristown, which should make for good footing for the quick and the fast. In short . . . If Duanah rushes for 120+ yards . . . Science Hill wins this one! Hopefully he won’t be hampered with leg cramps like he has experienced in the first two games, which has cut his playing time.

Gilligan gets lucky in this one. This is the worst Mo. West team I can remember. Science Hill by 21.

wow, this is a very intriguing matchup. Mo. West played with a lot of emotion against Cherokee and the seniors stepped up to have a huge game. The Trojans defense completely shut down Cherokee's wing-T offense.

If the Trojans can keep the mistakes to a minimum like they did last week, I like West to continue rolling up the momentum and take a close one over Science Hill late in the game.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
