Hey Catchman from h"ville the Nighthawks work hard year round we LOVE to play the game but we also love to WIN !!! Color of the uniform does'nt matter because if it did your team would"nt be very good being black and gold Ha Ha. We all play for different reasons and we all play because we love it!! Lets do"nt bring (J.W.) into it because he has done alot for softball in the mid-state. If it was'nt for him taking everyones players in the early years maybe all of us would'nt have worked as hard as we have to make our teams and players better so we could keep our players on our teams.

k3, not speaking for the one and only catchman, but

his colors are not just black and gold. his own kid's colors were actually blue and orange and he still works with a lot of girls that go to beech and to hendersonville. heck, he has even been known to work with girls from goodpasture, hunters lane, and just about anywhere else where they recognize good coaching!

as far as the nighthawks, the catchman has deep feelings

about any girl being mistreated by any of their teams, so

that is a very sore subject with him. the catchman cares

very deeply for all the girls that he works with, he has

helped countless girls improve their softball skills as well

as their life skills of how to just get along. if you

don't believe it, just go see him work with some of the girls at The Zone in hendersonville as he currently is

working with girls from white house, beech, hendersonville,

to name just a few places.

lastly, just to hear someone that has been in fastpitch since the fifties and sixties playing at the old sulphur

dell park in nashville with the likes of the one and only

Buster Boguskie (sp), is a treat to be around. This goes

back further than most people have been around, and

easily pre-dates all the other instructors in the area.

As far as catchman my daughter lives in Manchester and she vists catchman every week. So for strike 3 to say he has a gold and black team is wrong because her school colors are red and black and she as has red/blue and marron and black and red black colors for summer ball . He cares about all atheltes that has respect for themselves and other regardless of the team our their home town. Keep doing what your doing catchman there are many whom admire you love of the game and the knowledge that comes with it. :D;);)

The Nashville Eagles (Crieve Hall) are by far the elite group of summer teams from the state of Tennessee.

ASA 18U National Champions (Don Lockridge)

NSA 14U World Series Champions (Pat Cannon & Mike Wright)

NSA 2002 16U World Series Champions (Kenny Watson)

No other summer travel organization from Tennessee can match these accomplishments.

Not to mention the many state and major tournament championships.

Good point, Bruce408. Those teams represent some outstanding players, many of whom were just neighborhood girls from south Nashville playing ball with their friends. Also, another reason those teams were so successful is because the coaches you listed are all first class individuals who, over the years, have devoted countless hours to teaching and promoting fastpitch softball. :)
