Most are smart alecks and jerks, both to coaches and players. Why shouldnt a coach be able to ask a ref about a call that is obviously wrong? These guys are on a power trip and get their egos hurt when someone challenges them. And they know its wrong. Thats what ticks me off. And another thing, I think these guys need to be more concerned with getting a call right rather than worryin about all the non-football stuff...ie watch the line, or, you cant wear a certain wristband or towel. Seems like they get off on provin how big and bad they are by fussin at a kid for something that has nothing to do with the game. I know i've ranted a lot, but thats the state of officiating these days. Worry about everything but the game itself. And greene county officials are the absolute worst!!!! /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" But at the same time...im not talkin bout all of them...just about 90 percent of them!!! So if you are an official in the good 10 percent...dont get ill over this!!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

the wristbands, towels and jersey's tucked in is emphasized by the state in the state meetings. if the coaches would attend instead of sending an ######. coach, they would know what Gene Beck says first hand and would take care of the minor issues so we wouldn't have to. the coaches can also pick up that little rule book the state sends them and look under " points of interest" to find out what the state wants us to look for this yr.

all I know is the officiating for millington games have been unbelievable..especially this last one against collierville...the refs called four straight holding penalties one drive, they would call unneccessay late hits if a collierville player was touched out of bounds...millington has had nearly 10 touchdowns called back this year because of holding penalties...also in the collierville game the refs made every millington player take off their visors...i think the refs in shelby county need to let the kids play football because they are starting to make it obvious that the officiating is not fair at all...

Rule 1-5-3 -n states that "If worn attached to the helmet, an eye shield is illegal unless it is constructed of a molded, rigid material that is clear and permits 100 percent (no tint) allowable light transmission."

Most of the guys want to wear the tinted ones like the pros. Not allowed.

As for the holding, I'd have to see the film.

Like I said...there are a lot of you that try your best to do the right thing. But at the same time, there are many that don't. Some have no idea about football itself...just what they see in that little rule book. And you know as well as I do that there are a lot of things in that rule book that can be misinterpreted. I'm not going to bash referees because I know myself how hard it is. But there are times when a little common sense should be used in some of the decision making that goes on. So if I offended you, I apologize. There are good ones and bad ones and some that fall in the middle. All we ask of you guys is that you do your best and if you screw up, be a man and admit it. It makes things easier on everyone! Kudos to all the good officials in the state!!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Refs in tonight's Brentwood-Franklin game worst ever.Franklin return man made fair catch motion with his hand, went and cought the ball,Brentwood guy runs into him and everyone stops, looks for a flag, and the franklin player runs into endzone for a touchdown! unbelievable, and it was horriable all night both ways, they should donate their checks to the school for the blind because they sure don't deserve them.

our last game against maryville-heriteige. it was TERRIBLE. ball went right out of the back of the endzone. nowhere near the sideline. they marked it at the 2. and there was about 200 yards in chop blocks and another 500 yard in holding penalties not called on them. facemasks and what not that were 15 yard types they didnt call. but we were trying to get the attention of the refs and they threw a 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on us. homer the home field advantage official was doin that game.

I wondered if that was the case when I saw the score. Same thing happened to Bradley up there last year. Luckily we were up by enough to secure the win.

Anyone ever seen a reciever trip over his own feet with no defense within 5 yards and still get an interference call? I have now.

Boy they sure did a horrible job in Fairview at the Middle School playoff game. Several bad calls, I think it was 13 flags for East to 3 for fairview. I think some parent was taken away by the police. I have good friends that kids play on both teams and even the Fairview folks said it was bad. The strange thing is it seems as far as I can remember when East Middle plays Fairview, it is always the same ref's. I didnt think they could pick the games they officiate?

    • If an attorney sees enough merit in the case they will take it and only collect if their client wins. Happens in civil cases all the time.
    • Groves got the ball over 20+ times. His son arguably played the best for East in that game. 3rd and long multiple times and he came up big to continue a couple drives. Please shut up for the 3rd year in a row
    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
