Haywood by 2TDs. Sorry 6-3A fans but Dyerbsurg & Haywood are the top two Class 3A teams in the west-TN area. JSS, Fayette Ware, McNairy, Bolivar, & Dyer Co. fall into the second level of teams.

Whoa Nelly! lets not get the wagon ahead of the horse just yet. Agreed Haywood should win this game, however lets not poll these teams so early. JSS,McNairy,Fayette -Ware appear to be the class of 6-aaa with DHS,Haywood,Ripley appear to be the class of 7-aaa . Taking this in context all will depend on how playoffs turn out with these two regions not playing one another. BC,How would you rate 6-AAA/5AAA thus far. 7-AAA will have their hands full with 8-AAA Mitchell N Sheffield. All Memphis teams play a different slow down tactic of play, that will wear any team down from waiting on them to play the next down. Any game against the Memphis teams is usually an hour longer than any game a team will play during the season. Good luck to your Cubs. GO TROJANS !

I'm going to go with FW in the upset.

So far they've dominated the 3A teams they have played, and they where able to knock off a couple of 5A schools also. I think FW is a little underrated and they have something to prove this game.

Ricky Holloway is the 2nd best LB in the state and Arsenio Keys is the best DE in the region. Teams have had a hard time scoring on them so far. So if Haywood does win, I don't think it will be by 2 TDs.

BC, heres a video of Fayette-Ware when they broke the state record for offensive yards Friday night. I know its against Chester Co., but you can tell what kind of athletes they have.

I'll take Fayette-Ware in this one. The game is in Somerville and I really wouldn't call it an upset. Haywood lost to a great Dyersburg team. Other than that, neither team has played anybody that is really good. Haywood beat two teams that are usually good (JCM and Crockett) but both are rebuilding this year. Fayette-ware beat Bolivar like a drum. I think this game will tell us a lot about both teams.

Fayette ware by touchdown.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
