Now This is what I have been told but I can`t really confirm. This game will not be played and for some reason Trezevant forfeited this game before the season even started.

 

 

JCM is on a two game winning streak!!! The YANKER is elated!!! We are on a roll!!! Look out Henry County...you will make it three!!! You cannot win at the DREADED ROCK!!!!! I AM THE DREADED YANKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't understand, Trezevant is playing Sheffield this week. How can they forfeit a game against JCM and then play one against Seffield in the same week?!?!?

That`s what I`m trying to figure out. Maybe Trezevant mistakenly scheduled 2 games on the same date and had to forfeit one of them. Like I said, this is what I was told by someone from JCM who should be in the know.

If that's the case, then Trezevant would have an 11 game regular season. Any regular wins and losses and then one more loss added due to the forfeit. I didn't think that was allowed.

It is amazing at the incompetency coming out of Memphis. Who are the rocket scientists involved in the football schedule making over at Trezvant? They are most irresponsible. They cost JCM the opportunity to play a game, and, they have cost JCM financially as well. The TSSAA should impose a large fine upon Trezvant and that money should be given to JCM to help offset the costs incurred due to the loss of the home date. At the very least, there should be a public appology made to JCM.

 

My advice would be that other schools avoid scheduling Trezevant in the future. They have simply shown no class.

Not that I care, but what is JCM's record against Trezevant? I ask this becasue it almost sounds like it was a good thing they forfeited for JCM. Why would this be a boost, do the players at JCM not want to play this team, did they not have a chance to win, or is it a boost simply because they got a win without playing, which I can understand the Joy associated with doubling your win total with 1 forfeit. What does JCM gain from this forfeit other than a meaningless win in the nonregion category?

I will tell you why Prophet, because we need every win we can get, I do not remember the last time we lost to Trezvant but we generally beat them but I doubt that would have been the case this year because we are terrible. We beat Liberty but who hasn't. We scored 9 against a defense that has given up over 35 every week. I am afraid the mercy rule will go into effect next week when Henry county comes in and claims the rock as its territory.

I can`t remember Trezevant ever beating us in recent history. Their best chance to beat us came a few years ago when they had one of the best offensive and defensive lines around. That year they had two kids that played both ways on the line and both signed with UT. One of them was Dan Williams who is now coming into his own for the Vols and just earned a starting job on defense. The other guy I can`t remember his name, but I believe he was more highly touted in high school than Williams. He has since given up football to concentrate on school. (From my understanding both were very good students academically)

 

I`d say the only way this benefits us is that our coaches has a chance to watch HC play tonight. Not that they will do that or that it will do any good. I`m sure JCM was not happy about the forfeit, but what can you do. Trezevant scheduled two teams on the same night so they had to forfeit one of them. They`ll play in Memphis tonight instead of driving to Jackson. The Jackson Sun made it sound like JCM just found out this week that the game was off, however I know for a fact they have known about it since before football season started.

 

Reitzfan...I`m not positive, but I think there are rules in place that stipulate Trezevant has to pay JCM a certain amount of money for not showing up. How much that is, I do not know.

      Richland plays at McKenzie on Wed.  Should be a good series.  Does Richland have good pitching?

      Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
