I know I am a way outsider to Cannon Co. but, it takes time to teach kids how to win if you have been losing like Cannon has for so many years. The "metal mistakes" take time to correct and this comes with teaching kids to win and getting them to where they expect to win those close ones. Good point. But I was at the Dekald game and saw Cannon Co. for the first time. I had heard about there running game. I have questions on why they went away from #6. That is lke the Titans going away from Vince Young and putting in Kerry Collins because the defefense changes things, or the Chargers going away from LT because the Raiders make a little adjustment on their defense. If he is the best runner you have to stay with him and make them stop him. I still say Lions 28 - 12, if they let #6 run the ball and not try to "out think" the other team.

Look, no one is question your ability as a coach. The questions being asked were just why the offensive coordiantor went away from #6 in second half so soon. I could understand if they stop him a couple of times or bust him for a loss. But anyway enough about last week, hopefully rain holds off and Lions have a great crowd and a big win over the Blue Devils.

Coach Barger ( I will not address you by your first name on here) like you I think everyone that knows me knows who I am by my screen name. Don't let things like some of the postings on here get you distracted. No matter what call you make or what your record is there will be folks in the stands that obviously know more than you do. That is a given and you know that. I have not gotten to see your Lions this year, but will be over in a few weeks and I am looking forward to it. No offense, I hope that is the only game you lose from here on out (you understand). Remember there are alot of us over here pulling for you and wishing you all the best in the world. Just take care of business tonight and don't let others get in your head. I know you won't, but sometimes it is good to hear from those that are behind you. For those of you from Cannon... My name is Eric Swafford, I have known Coach Barger his entire life. I have known his parents and oldest brother my whole life and his older brother and I played football for many years together. I say that to say this... You all are lucky to have someone of this man's quality and integrity working with your young people and if you will get behind him and what he is trying to do...he will build you a program and help these young people become fine young men. And isn't that what it is about!

Just goot a little ticked when people don't know what was going on in the game. Melvin is a special player but he plays O, D, and returns kicks. He is an outstanding talent that we are slowly discovering all that he can do. Don't worry, the Lions will be ready and I will be ready. Thanks for the support.
