11AA picks

This Region is up for grabs for everybody and their will not be any surprise losses to me. I think all games will be close.

Cheatham over Chester by 8

I never thought Chester Co was the 2nd best team in our district. Their scoring spreads out throughout the team and they don't have that one player that you can count on to get their points.

Creekwood over Camden by 7

I always thought Camden was better than their district record. I think Creekwood's post play is what will have them beat Camden. But with Camden playing at home, and if Creekwood don't get out on their shooters, then Camden can light it up from 3 and win.

Bolivar over Waverly by 11

I thought that Bolivar was a top 2 team in our district all year but they hit a slide during district play. They will make alot of noise the next few years because they are young. I think Waverly has to have a strong post game to play with Bolivar. Bolivar's playing at home at they can light it up from 3 and they are not scared to shoot them. Waverly will have to rebound well and stop Bolivar's penatration to win this game.

I agree with everything you said about Harpeth and McNairy. I believe it is a toss up. If I had to pick a winner, it would be McNairy because whenever a game is a toss up, I pick my team.

Good Luck to everyone and everybody be safe traveling.

Good breakdown, can't argue with any of your picks.

Cheatham and Harpeth seem to miss out on the luck of the draw. I'll take them both at home and only hope the parents stay in the stands and let the coaches coach. When will they ever "grow up" in South Cheatham.

I didn't hear about any of this either. It was a close game in post season. Still, why would you lump everybody in South Cheatham into a small group that might have come out of the stands? What does Hogan know? /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

You know Hogan still carries that bitter taste in his mouth from a couple or so years ago.

He will never go into details, he just likes to be vague and still likes to beat the dead horse even though it's decomposed.

Guess you wasn't at the game either. Good Luck Lady Indians on Friday.

Hogan has no bitter taste in his mouth, just a knife in his back.

Good luck to Coach Johnson and the Lady Indians

Yeah, the knife may have been in a parent's hand, but it was the administration that didn't have your back.

That's where your remarks should be directed.

It was a great game last night between McNairy/Harpeth. The game was back and forth the whole game and McNairy was able to hit FT's at the end to hold on. How many SR's does Harpeth lose and who are they? What grade are the two big post players in? They have a nice shooting touch when they step outside the paint. I've read where they have a young team and I was wondering who was coming back because you guys have a good squad.

One senior, Holli Flippo (14).

The posts, Emily Erland (44) is a junior and Karly Miller (42) is a sophomore (she will be dominant over the next two years with that left handed hook shot). They both can hurt you from the outstide.

Also a pretty good group of freshman coming over from the middle school. They finished second to probably the best middle school girls team in the state.

Congrats to the team and coach Johnson. I believe they exceeded a lot of people's expectations this year.

Very proud of the Harpeth Lady Indians this year. They were very young and overcame some injuries. This was definitely a rebuilding year and people had picked them as low as 6th in the district, but they found a way to finish as runner up and had a good showing against the best team from 12AA. They will be back next year in full force, but now let's concentrate on softball as we have a good opportunity to have a great year in softball.

I've heard we're without our top player this year (Melody C).

    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
    • He was pretty darn good for a freshman, but he will have a hard time seeing the field at Oakland for a good while, I’m afraid.
    • Dang I feel bad for the kid. I’m sure he loves his dad and wants to do anything for his dad but I don’t think he realizes his dad isn’t doing the best for his football career if he keeps jumping schools.
    • I’m not taking shots at the kid, but “athlete” is not something I would use to describe him. He was a long, lengthy, defensive back
