Halls vs. Powell

I heard Reece Kelley donned the pads last night. If he plays (and is healthy)he will make a difference. For those of you who didn't see him in the srimmages, he is a PLAYER!! He ran the ball better than Kitts or Waggoner, and was our best defensive lineman period. Now am I saying he is better than Kitts or Waggoner, NO! Am I saying he is better than any defensive lineman now, NO!! But anyone who saw him before the accident would have to agree that he was!! If he plays on defense I will predict he gets at least one sack. Anyone else feel the same??

I totally agree Ironman. Kelley always impressed me for the tough yardage when we needed it and got it done up the middle. I think his biggest asset to the team will be his defensive contributions. If we could have had him for the Bearden & Central games against those running QBs it could have given us more options. If he plays and is game fit that might tilt the balance to Big Red.

I'm getting a good feeling going into the last four games that we haven't hit our stride yet. If the passing game comes around to mix things up with the running game we will become a tougher squad to play against. I think we got a slight shock in the second half from Clinton that might be good for us. Hopefully all the turnovers are out of our system.

The Panthers have had a good season so far, but they have a tough 3 weeks coming, with Halls, Central, and West. Powell has not really beaten anybody that would be considered quality, Campbell Co. being the only team that has beaten at team not in Region 1 3A. The only team that Halls has beaten that would be a quality team is West. I think that Halls is probably the better team, and they will win this game, but it will be a close finish. I say Halls wins 35-31.

The game is at Halls. It is Homecoming.

Why was the Powell coaching staff painting the field Tuesday morning? I know I saw them there, I just couldn't see exactly what was being painted. It struck me as peculiar that they were out there on a Tuesday. They wouldn't be out there early Tuesday morning to paint for their next home game would they?

you must be smokin something because the Powell coaches have nothing to do with painting the field EVER. They have classes at 7 in the morning so i question your eyes. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

Being the curious cat that I am, I will venture onto the field thursday morning and see if I can figure it out for myself. Also I have two nephews that are in the band, I will ask them about it.

I just spoke to my sister, she said that her boys mentioned something about anti-Powell graffiti being painted on the field. Surely the Powell coaches would not be so low as to "plant" grafitti. Those are steps taken by the most desparate of coaches.

HTV what is your take on this situation?
