How many young kids does LA have? Do they have a future?

Does Livingston Academy have a future?

Are you asking if there are gobs of state titles in the future, now that remains to be seen. Do they have potential to return back to being a competive program? You better believe it. Basically our whole team is young. I am not a parent of any football players, but do attend alot of games, talk with parents and family of the players, and other fans with more "inside" knowledge of the program. They work hard and play a tough schedule. LA will be better and I can't wait.

There were a LOT of seniors on the '05 championship team; and combined with all the mess from last year it is taking a bit to recover. LA also plays one of the toughest schedules in the state. We'll see if Grant Swallows can continue to bring the program around.

Is the controversy over the principal having any effect over the team? (I do not know the details of the resignation of Haskins; but he did create a stir over the boys' basketball coach when he tried to unilaterally fire him when he took the principalship this summer...and was overruled by the Super.)

I don't know about the principal. What was the deal over the bb boys coach. What's up with that, any idea?

Haskins had some issues over the way the bb coach dealt with the players...and apparently wanted to have him removed for this. Word got out over this; and the superintendent clarified the situation. He was quoted: 'I make the hires and fires, not the principal.'

Haskins (the new principal) apparently wes under investigation (am not privy to details); was put on administrative leave at the start of the month; and resigned about 3 days ago. That's all I know at this moment.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
