Im surprised there is no more talk on how East was going to pound on Loretto oh yea they didnt. Nice call on that sweep you can stop looking for it now.

What's wrong with showing confidence in your county's teams and trying to pump them up for their games? Guess you wouldn't know anything about that though. Say, how have your boys from Lawrence Co. faired against HC this year? Oh yeah, I distinctly remember that drubbing. Keep on talking of it makes you feel big. And if that's true about Loretto not shaking hands with East after the game, that is low class. I wasn't there, so I can't say for certain. But if it's true, just remember in a couple of years that what goes around comes around. I'm sure Coach Jones' memory won't fail him.

Yea that is what i heard, I heard one player was hit like 7 times in the chest with the ball for good yardage but could not catch it, also heard the coach took 2 of the best defensive players out for the first half just to prove a point. they went in second half and they scored no more, so as i see it the Coach lost my East boys that game. I hate it for then as hard as they worked........but now it is Centervilles turn to come to east.....

yep thats right we have been waitin all year for this. but the coach took them out for discipline reasons i think...

Who are you to talk..........? oh yea.....now i see it your from the same county as those low class kids from Loretto, All i can say is I hope coach Jones shows no mercy on them next year rushing the field without shaking hands and celebrating on the 50 yard line was about as low as you can go. I did not understand pulling the 2 main defenders out for half a game, but I respect his decision, this year is a development year anyway, we are supporting our kids. I can assure you East will not be showing any love/respect to anybody from Loretto.

Yea they needed it bad, but it was tarnished by a low class move.

Coach Jones is simply playing his cards right at this point by showing his players that they must respect him and his coaches... Some of these kids think they can get away with stuff but not with coach Jones around!!! HE is gonna earn respect and build a program like it should be built!!!! Good Luck coach Jones!!!!! Ive been busy but I should be at East this friday!!!!!!

I think he meant that loretto tarnished thier only win by making a low class move by doing what they did. It was classless, I was there too, but those folks know not what they do..... East will not forget that little stunt.

When your team breaks an 18 game losing streak, yes I said 18, you're going to rush the field. That win was about as big to those kids as a professional team winning the Super Bowl.

Congrats to the Mustangs and great game to East Hickman!!!

east has way more class than that yea they'll celebrate after their first win but not like that east will shake their hands like men and show some respect

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
