I may be wrong, but I don't think they moved from 24th. I think 24 is the number of votes they got to be in the top 10. Most polls and pollsters don't keep up with anything other than the top 10

Alcoa's only loss...as has been the case in the last...oh I don't know...5 years...is to MARYVILLE. The defending champs shouldn't have anyone ahead of them...especially not Goodpasture...unless they have multiple losses to teams other than Maryville.

Alcoa should be #1 in 2A. Until someone beats them in 2A (which may never happen /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> ), nobody should be ahead of them. I realize Goodpasture is undefeated, but still, Alcoa's only loss is to 4A untouchable Maryville. Outside of that, they've been blowing people out. I'm happy with Fulton being #3 in 3A. These next two weeks will seperate the men from the boys with Fulton going to Catholic and AE back-to-back weeks. Should be exciting.....

Alcoa didn't just lose to Maryville last year, they also lost to Fulton, 24-21, in a classic in Alcoa. But, outside of that, I don't remember anyone else besides Maryville beating them in the last 4 years.

The AP voters from all of those media outlets have favorites jp1952 and that is why certain teams will always be ranked in the poll no matter if they lost to a team that is equal or better than they are.

 

Polls are meaningless. Playoffs is all that counts to me.

OP is just curious how many are private & public. OP sees possibly 7 private and 23 public?
