Letting Ensworth put 14 up on Ryan is not too impressive, considering the fact that Jefferson did not play. Also, Ballard through numerous picks that set up many of Ryan's points. I gotta go with MBA squeaking by Ryan.

hahhahah thats a funny and appropriate analogy. Ryan is a good team, but in order to beat either of the next two teams they will have to air it out more. They are also a naturally physical team but it will take more than a few pushes after the play, and eye gougeing to win the next two.

I didn't go to the game because I thought it would be a blowout......I was surprised myself.....not where BA needs to be at the end of the season......score wise against BGA.....

I haven't seen Ryan play, but it will be an uphill battle against MBA and BA if they do not throw the ball well. Sustaining drives against either defense on the ground is a real problem.

Has there been any talk of moving the game to Vanderbilt?

 

As a reference, the last time I recall MBA and Ryan meeting late in the season with both undefeated was '71; the game drew 28,000 at Vanderbilt.

Yep it outdrew all of the Vandy games that year and MBA was super talented and whipped the Irish. I don't think Owen was the coach but I'm too old to remember; I was a freshman that year.

 

By the way don't you just love it when the only reason Ryan beat Ensworth is the Jefferson kid being hurt and the 5 INT"S... a true Vanderbilt type comment. Injuries are part of the game and guess what...somebody had to actually make those 5 plays...Ryan made great adjustments after the first quarter. Hat's off to the Ryan team and staff.
