Peabody at JCS

It appears that most folks are saying that if you contain Kendal Harper that you will beat Trention. Folks, you need to open up your eyes. Trenton is more than Kendal Harper. You have to remember that Trenton has an outstanding running back in Tamias Johnson. This young man is an outstanding talent. Remember, he went for over 200 yards against Milan last week. While he does not get the ink that Harper gets, if you put all of your eggs in the basket into stopping Harper, Johnson will burn you in a heart beat. The defense of Trenton is nothing to sneeze at either. They held Milan to 13 total points, and they did shut them out in the second half last week.

This is a huge game for both teams. The winner of this game will get an automatic bid to the playoffs. Ronnie Fowler Field will be rocking on Friday and there will be a huge playoff atmosphere. I would arrive at this game early as seating will be at a premium.

Viking14, how do you rate the OLine of Peabody compared to Humboldt and Milan and Westview? Does Harper have to scramble often?

Peabody's line is good. I'd hate to compare them to the other's as each have their strengths/weaknesses. Harper is just plain dangerous. There's other athletes on Peabody's team but it definately revolves around Harper. Their back is good but everyone keying on Harper makes him a decoy some too! Peabody revolves around Harper but the others can take up the slack.

Peabody doesn't have much at the wide receiver position. After Bledsoe decapitated #17 the receivers were a little tentative to make a play on the ball and Bledsoe picked two off and Anderson got one as well. JCS shouldn't have any problem shutting down the passing game.

Several times the only thing that saved us was our speed in the secondary and linebackers. That may pose a problem for the Eagles. One person can't tackle Harper he will make you miss everytime. JCS will have to gang tackle Harper and still account for Johnson.

JCS' coaching or Harper will be the deciding factor in the game.

Jaxman, Ill be pulling for JCS in this one /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> JCS has made a great statement coming into 2A the way they did. It puts a mark on your back however. I think JCS can weather the storm, Im taking JCS 27 - 13. JCS 's Defense is key in this victory. Good Luck EAGLES.

Thanks Kingofthejungle...it has been a fun year and we have out performed most people's expectations...including our own...

Our team is having success, and yes, that's a lot of fun. However, that fact alone means that should we make the playoffs, we won't be able to sneak up on anyone. Everyone will be ready to play us, including Trenton Peabody this week. We're going to have our work cut out for us and better bring our "A Game" if we want to be successful...

how would rain affect both teams

I think a wet field will affect JCS moreso than Trenton since JCS is a little smaller across the board. Heavier teams usually do better on a wet field than smaller, lighter teams. Plus JCS is predominantly a passing team & rain will hurt the passing some. I still give the slight edge to JCS in this one but it'll be close & Trenton is not gonna lay down.

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
    • Pirate fans, thread is up on the baseball message board.
