OK Tribefb, I'll admit it, I have never heard that saying before. What the heck does " ...the cookie will be in the oven too long ..." mean ?

It was in response to the cookie crumbles ,meaning your team may get burnt before you get a chance to beat up on the other teams in region 2. It's a first !!

Is region 6-4a the best 4a region, have you observed anymore regions. There is not 1 dominant team in that region so we are all suppose to think that 3 or 4 teams raised their play so high all at the same time. I dont thnk so, Rossview, Porrtland, NW are terribly weak and well Kenwood although better is not all that and neither is Beech, IMO. Jury is still out on Mt. Juliet and Clarksville, can they get by Maplewood and Hillsboro, we will see. Maplewood has been picked to beat Maryville by a couple of people on here, when was the last time they beat Hillsboro, they probably will have to do that before they get a chance at Maryville. Someone suggested that Red Bank mgith be the Wests representative if they wree there, well they do not have one quality win, they have beaten 3 5-3 teams and everyone else was terrible that they played, they may indeed be one of the top 2 teams in the state but there unblemished record does not support that , just look at their schedule. As for region 7-8, same thing, Henry county is the favorite there should they win this week against Hardin county they could host the first 4 rounds.

All this being said Hillsboro is the team to beat and until someone does it, it will remain that way.

and in the finals well Maryville is the team to beat.

For Farragut's first 4 games in the playoffs I would like them to play Bradley Co., then Karns, then Science Hill, then Heritage, before playing Memphis Overton in the finals........can anyone arrange this? Point is wherever you wind up in the region as long as it's the top 4 your good to go. You will have to play big games against great opponents regardless of where you land. Whatever you do in the first 2 rounds, for 1-5A and 2-5A, the path through to the championship will most likely involve Riverdale, and nobody really remembers those that fell in the early rounds. Until 5A teams from East Tennessee start going to the Clinic Bowl (do they still call it that?) regularly we really can't talk much about how good our regions are.

    • And that needs to go, Charter ,private ,magnet, city and any school that operates differently than pure public schools should be separated. What really needs to be done is address urban and rural. About all the usual powers have access to several kids from other schools period.
    • Sad deal. Hate it. So the coach that kicked her off is now fired??
    • Slightly off topic from a gender standpoint but just observed several boys volleyball games in the Knoxville area for a short spring season. The guys seemed to have a great time. There were several club players on each team but several football, basketball and tennis players involved. Knoxville Catholic, Maryville, Heritage, Knoxville West maybe William Blount had teams. Thanks to Coach Brent Carter from Knoxville Catholic/K2 for getting it together. I’m sure the coaches involved got several laughs trying to coach guys that really had no idea what they were talking about but pretty athletic and competitive. Catholic’s best basketball player told the coach he had played a lot of 2:3 and 1:3:1 but never a 3:3 LOL Maybe it will catch on with some more schools next year.
