I'll have to admit I don't remember alot about Cloudland at that time except for Byrd and a few others. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Lunsford a better passer than Byrd was? As for the running game Hampton has more than one guy you have to try to stop.

Cloudland wasn't blessed with alot of receivers at the time, moving the ball wasn't the problem with Ezell,it was trying to stop their offence. Byrd was a runner and a good one ,he never threw the ball nearly as much as Michael. We may have to throw more later on ,but the key to passing is this, you need to pas because you want to ,not because you have to. We have threw the ball very effective this season, it would suit me just fine if we didn't have to throw another pass. I'm sure any good Coach would tell you the same thing. Most of the passing teams in the East won't be playing tomorrow.

I was reading on the South Pitt and FCA and they said both threw the ball about 6 times a game.

Its been fun talking and fussing with all the Oneida faithful this week, we both have our opinions and nothing has been proven one way or the other yet. Were all just pumped about our respective teams.Ijust hope everyone has a safe trip up and both can have an injury free game. Iwon't wish you good luck ,because I'd be lying.Ialso hope we can have agood clean game and we can all act like adults when its over. If you need to know anything ASK ME .LOL

Pujo,as long as we can do this after tonight all will be well...I admit it's been fun..As we all know there has to be a loser in each game..And since I ain't lying I hope it's Hampton...Good luck to both teams and may the INDIANS win..see ya tonight Pujo and one last thing..The chiefs are horrible /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

You don't have to tell me anything about the Chiefs, went from the best offence in football to the worst. But I've pulled for them since I was a child, when they won the Super Bowl. I guess I'm just a glutton for punishment. I do think You're Injuns could beat my Chiefs. That just ain't right ,Injuns beating CHIEFS.

Have a safe drive up and God willing 'I'll see you tonight.

/blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> OK, I would like to say something and I am not out to talk trash or make no one mad. I am going to talk about some facts about the last few years. Some of you like pujo can vouch for what I am going to say. If you don't know I am from cloudland from 2001 to 2004. Cloudland had no more than 1 or 2 losses in the regular season, but things change when you get in the playoffs. For example, 2001 clouldland played for the gold ball and got hammered and I've never saw football played like that before. You know what I 'm talking about. You all from hampton was there to see it too. The next year had the same outcome when we played boyd buchanan. I can go on and on but I'm not going to. These games were played with 2 mr football players, the state ranked no.1 team. The state record holder for the most rushing yards for a qb in one year and numerous all state players. The teams that hampton will play later are the same teams just not the same names. You can ask anyone that follows lander football or anyone that has played or won a state championship. You've got to be 50 50, run the ball 50 percent of the time and pass 50 percent of the time. Hampton's like cloudland was, they do not do this. I've seen you all play many times and you all run more and more. Mark my words, this will be your down fall /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> until upper east tenn finds this out they will be no gold ball for us /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> but good luck and may God bless you all /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

YOU MAY BE RIGHT?IHOPE NOT! THOSE WERE GREAT LANDER FOOTBALL TEAMS NO DOUBT! BUT THIS HAMPTON TEAM DOES THROW THE BALL VERY WELL AND TO MORE THAN ONE RECIVER AND THERE WOULD PROBABLY BE A COUPLE OF MR. FOOTBALL CANDIDATES ON THIS SQUAD AS WELL IF JC HAD LEFT THEM IN TO GET THE NUMBERS LIKE LUNCE DID AT CLOUDLAND THESE GUYS HAVE BARELY PLAYED HALF A SEASON BUT IT DOSEN'T SEEM LIKE ANYONY CARES AS LONG AS THE TEAM IS DOING GOOD AND THAT SAY ALOT ABOUT THIS BUNCH.SOMETIMES I WONDER IF SOME OF YOU GUYS FROM CLOUDLAND WANT TO SEE US SUCEED OR NOT.WHY POST SOMETHING LIKE THIS BEFORE A PLAYOFF GAME?I THINK THIS TEAM WILL ONLY USE THIS FOR MOTIVATION, NOT TO CREATE DOUBT!GO DOGS KEEP IT ROLLIN!!!

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
