It is amazing to me, how people can plan the next game, when they still have to win a game to get to there. I haven't even thought about who DCA is going to play next, I am at least aware that they may get beat. That football can bounce in a lot of different directions. I certainly hope the players of Tyner come into Donelson taking the DCA team lightly, just like the Goodpasture team did a few weeks ago. I am sure their coach doesn't let them get carried away like some of the people on this post. amazing, absolutely amazing. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

I can assure you there are no Tyner players on here, and no one posting as a Tyner fan is a player or student......but you can't tell me you haven't looked at the brackets to see what kind of road your team has to go down to get to the big game....then again maybe your haven't.....regardless none of us will be running the ball or making a tackle Friday night /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

The TSSAA brackets and home team situations are a confusion every year, so not sure how you are seeing the simple questions of who would be the home team depending on who wins as Tyner being cocky and over looking DCA....

Tackles

Wilson Jackson 120 tackles

Keith Mayes 84 tackles

Tyrell Grayson 82 tackles

Sacks

Wilson Jackson 14 sacks

Keith Mayes 5 sacks

Tyrell Grayson 3 sacks

Tackles for Loss

Wilson Jackson 37

Keith Mayes 18

Tyrell Grayson 17

Interceptions

Kelvin Jackson 7

Azarius Edwards 4

Fumbles Caused

William Sardin 5

Wilson Jackson 4

I realize none of these stats matter Friday night, however these are a few of the defensive leaders for the team.

Those are some very fine defensive stats, especially the tackles/sacks. I also noticed DCA has a QB and TB in the top ten in state per the Tennessean. Also several receivers with very good numbers. I think that probably translates to great line play. I have a feeling if Tyners db's play man coverage too much, they may have a golden opportunity to show some of that vaunted speed. This looks like the makings of a real battle!!! Good luck to both teams.

When the brackets first came out I looked, but I believe in first things first. This week it is Tyner Academy, we will worry about next week at 10 pm friday. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

I have seen both teams play. DCA is the best Coached and balanced team but speed kills. I look for a scoring shootout. DCA will be able to throw the ball but if they don't control the clock, Tyner will put a lot of points on the board. I look for an upset in this game. Tyner 33 DCA 28. One good thing about it I don't think Tyner's players belongings will be stolen at DCA like Westmorelands stuff was stolen at Tyner. It was a disgrace.

I was wondering if you had seen Goodpasture play this year and if so, how would you compare them with Tyner. GP has a boatload of backs with speed and very well coached. I believe DCA was able to move the ball thru the air against GP and I would look for them to try a similar game plan against Tyner. Have teams been sucessful passing this year against them?

York is seeded higher...Smith County is seeded lower.

If York and Tyner win...it would be at York.

If Smith County and Tyner win...it would be at Tyner.

thats what I thought too but the bracket in the program sold at game friday nite

showed the top of the bracket in the quarters and the semi-finals as the home team

the tssaa bracket does not show that

wish somebody at tssaa would clear this up

...I think you are right, Antwan...the program is confusing because it has the York/SC winner hosting regardless...if that's the case what was the purpose of 'seeding'???

    • Never in my life have I seen a team in a scrimmage against their own defense look so lost and confused. The defense didn’t look much better, the coaching staff can’t keep their anger together, not only with the players but also with their other coaches. I feel awful for those players. None of them look like they wanted or should’ve been out there, but for the grown men on the sidelines acting like fools, it's just embarrassing to the Farragut name and reputation. I now see why they chose not to live stream this on their YouTube channel.
    • We could sure use some math teachers country wide. Ever go into a store or restaurant and the bill comes to $9.97 and you give them a ten dollar bill and 2 pennies because you wanted a nickle back and then the meltdown starts and the next thing two more people have to come and help figure it out and the place comes to a complete halt. I see this everyday and it's a sad representation of all these schools allowing these kids out the door to get shortchanged the rest of their life.
    • I like the Pirates chances. I’ll be there as soon as work allows.
    • Stars, I heard we were searching far and wide for some math teachers. Any chance their kids bench press or 40 times are getting checked? LOL I’ve heard good things from 825.
    • I think it was expected. “Bad” luck I guess to get a couple difference maker QBs in the same class. I thought the decision was made a little early myself, but they were struggling offensively last year.  I assume the running quarterback alco had last year would be a senior this fall, and the transfer would start the following two years in addition to getting a ton of playing time this year. Maybe he waits two yrs, but I doubt it. The kid is good. So is the one who stayed.
