Regional Coaches of the Year

Hey Folks,

Who is your "Regional Coach of the Year" and why?

Gotta give props to "Coach D" at McMinn Central High School-Region 3 AAA. He took a team from worst to first, good job this year Chargers.

Coach Hollinsworth @ Station Camp back-to-back 10 win seasons and region 4-3a champs.

IMHO Don Thomas has to be on this list for Region 5-3A. He took the MC Tigers from 3-7 last year to 8-4 this year and to the 2nd round of the playoffs. Congrats Coach Thomas and glad to have you aboard

Coach Eric Swenson of Hickman County, region 6 AA. He led the Dawgs to a 9-1 regular season record (only loss coming at Lewis Co.) and currently has them playing Goodpasture Friday night in the third round of the playoffs. HC defeated Lewis Co. last week to avenge their only loss. This all coming after 7 straight losing seasons for the HC program. A fantastic job of coaching to say the least.

For Region 4AA I'd say Coach Derwin Wright of the York Institute Dragons. He's brought this team to a contender status, are Region 4AA Champions this year, and made school history with their first ever 12-0 season (and counting...).

 

 

All coaches do an outstanding job IMO. Not only do they love the game of football, they take their time with the children and hopefully instill in them teamwork, perserverance, and a sense of pride. My hat's off to them all.

I agree with bison4 & TigerGuy on 4-3A & 5-3A for the 2007 high school football season.

 

Region 6-3A has to be Coach Perry from Bolivar Central /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Coach Hollinsworth at Station Camp. Great coach both on and off the field. Great role model for the boys to look up to in addition to taking a team that was (1-9) 2 years ago to back to back (10-2)seasons plus region 4-3A championship.

Region 5-1A Jo Byrns Coach Atkins, 3 straight Region Titles, 3 straight apperance in the Quarterfinals, 9-1 regular season record currently 11-1, overall in past 3 seasons 36-3, he is one well of a coach.

Walt in Mt Pleasant now has 53 wins & 11 loses in his five years with mTp.

Only 3 region loses in five years.
