Curt Phillips is the real deal and Sullivan South certainly hung tough for a while....... but it still was a 27 point victory for Maryville. This just goes to show you how dominant Maryville is when a semifinal opponent is reasonably competitive with them and they still lose by 27. Sullivan South certainly deserves credit for hanging in there much longer than most Maryville opponents.

 

Congratulations to Sullivan South on a very good season. You guys represented yourselves, your school, and your region admirably. Believe me, there is absolutely no shame in losing to Maryville.

 

As for Maryville, I don't think anyone needs to give them directions to Murfreesboro. I would wish them good luck but we all know they don't really need it. I think I speak for most knowledgable observers in saying that another state title and a 60-0 record for this current group of seniors will be a reality come next Saturday night.
