Obion Central Football Coach?

Has anyone heard anything about the search for the next Rebel skipper? Just wondering what names were floating around.

I found it really funny that they had such a huge ad on TSSAA's bulletin board for a coach. It's gonna be dang near impossible to attract a good coach. They have NO chance to compete in the region they are in. Now, if someone just wanted to go because they have nice facilities and steak for a pre-game meal every Friday, ......................

Its rumored that, Chris Hill, Barry Kendal, and Paul Decker. Are top three in no particular order, but that's just county Chatter.

Well, there is no doubt that one of those particular coaches could definetly put them back on the right track. He sure got the ball flying further before!

No question that Hill did a good job at OCCHS, but he never stays anywhere for more than two or three years. The biggest problem at OC is the new system wide "A.D.". The administration is not hiring the coach, but he is. The guy that needs to be hiring a coach that is in that administration is Craig Rogers. He knows what it takes to be a head coach at a program with kids that don't have just a tremendous amount of athletic ability. I also heard that one of the assistants is getting an interview. Is there any truth in this?

I have not heard about the assistants. I have heard that he new "A.D." comes with the credentials for this process. This is supposed to be his expertise.

From what I have heard, the three coaches are being looked at intently as all three have had interviews. And I don't think the assistant coaches are being interviewed as they were asked to resign a few weeks ago.

You must not know much about coaching. Coach Rogers won at a place that didn't have a lot of talent. He has a tremendous amount of knowledge and wisdom about being a head coach. Plus, he just got out last year and it is still on fresh on his mind. From what I hear, the new A.D. doesn't have a expertise except promising things and not coming through. Enough about him, Coach Rogers needs to be in the decision process!!!!

Actually, coach hill is set up very well where he is at. From what I hear, he has been contacted by OC, who wants him to coach. As a player who has played under coach hill, I can promise you that OC will make winning a habit and change the whole mentality of football. And for all the people who HATE coach hill and say he will just leave in two years, I think you are wrong. He told us (his players) the only place he would ever leave OC for is his home, which is exactly where he went. It is my belief that coach hill would stay at least to see his children graduate. Someone can correct me but I believe coach hill has never been to the same place twice. Why not give him another chance? It's quite ironic because coach hill always gave second chances for players to come back to our team. As for me, I would push for coach hill to come back because he is a great man and an even better coach.
