Hill looked better on the mound tonight. You could tell last week she had had a layoff. Gave up a hit to the leadoff batter, which eventually scored. Seymour made contact in the first inning but struggle with her the rest of the way. Jefferson County made contact throughout the game, but not solid and not in the right spots. Seymour played good defense as well though. Cayla Johnson took over third base for this game for JCHS and was solid after a couple of first inning bobbles.

Interesting game Thursday at Morristown West, should tell some about both teams, not to overlook Greeneville tomorrow though.

What a game that Cherokee and East had. I know that one was fun to watch. So, what was there, 5 or 6 hits total between both teams?

West had a yawner last night against University. Looked very good on both sides of the ball even though the level of competition is noted. Hefner jacked 2, also had a double and a total of 6 RBI's. She and Masengill hit back-to-back dingers in the first inning. Now, the party begins: at Cocke County tonight & back home for Jeff Thursday.

Greeneville vs JCHS should start to separate the contenders from the pretenders tonight. Greeneville much improved from last year. West should be on cruise control with Cocke County. After tonights game with Greeneville and Thursday nights trip to Mo' town, who will be on top and who will be in the middle of the pack should be evident.

Predict low scoring affair tonight at JCHS with the mighty Patriots prevailing. M. West will quit scoring when they want to tonight, may be ugly early. Lance! Still no predictions? JC#1fan 1-0 with last nights prognastication! go JCHS!!!

This was about a strange sport involving a small hard ball, 90 foot base paths and pitchers who aren't able to throw on consecutive days.

No, at the end of the story

LADY RED GET EVEN While the Big Red were taking on the Patriots at Cocke County Field, just across the left field fence were the Lady Red hosting Seymour at Lady Red Field. While the Big Red couldn??™t find any luck of the Irish, the Lady Red did, beating Seymour 2-1. The Lady Red scoring came in the sixth inning when Kendra Walker doubled to center. Kelli Wyrick then doubled to right, bring home Walker. Following a pop out to third, an error allowed Wyrick to score the winning run. Lady Red starter Nicole Ball went four innings, giving up no runs. She had two strikeouts and three walks. Wyrick came on the handle the final three innings, giving up one run while striking out two and walking two. With the victory, the Lady Red evened their record at 2-2. It??™s now on to Inter Mountain Athletic Conference play for the Lady Red as they host highly touted Morristown West in a single game this afternoon at Lady Red Field. First pitch is set for 5 p.m.

Oh, sorry.

Reporter must have been confused. Cocke County was supposed to be playing Seveir County yesterday.

I don't know about the article, I think Cocke County played Sevierville last night. JCHS played Seymore and won 3-1. JCHS put on a show tonight, beat Greeneville 8-1 and could have been worse. JCHS threw senior Helton. JCHS was hitting on all cylinders tonight, hit the ball, and played excellent defense.

I thought Helton pitched an excellent game tonight, and the defense was outstanding behind her. The greeneville coach kept telling his team after every at-bat "Don't worry, we're going to start hitting her before its over." They never did lol.

The offense was the best its been yet. Every batter except Smith and Tucker had multiple hits, and those two are usually Jefferson County's most reliable hitters. Johnson (senior) and Dukes (freshman) were both 3-for-3.

Offense did look good tonight. Tucker and Smith didn't get on, but Tucker called out three times for making contact outside the box(two times she wasn't even close to being outside the box) and Smith crushed the ball twice deep only to be a long out) Offense was in the zone, this one could have been a much. much more lopsided victory for JCHS. Helton threw a whale of a game, gained a lot confidence last night. She will not overpower anybody, but I have three words for you . Location, Location, Location. Hit her spots extremely well, keeping Greeneville off balance all night. Keep in mind this is a much improved Greeneville team from last year, they played good defense and pitching was pretty good, JCHS just on it last night. Lets hope our Lady Pats keep rollin'. Off to West Thursday, this should be a classic.

What better way to start Spring than with a first-class showdown between 2 long-time rivals Jeff County & Morristown West? Where are the softball seers? Lancelot, 'Fastpitch Swami of the IMAC', will you come out of hiding to give us the word on how its gonna go down tonight in Motown? The winner will gain some valuable confidence as the early season race heats up. Come on out, get yourself a dawg & check it out, or better yet, I heard they're serving Filets & Ceasar Salads tonight at the Best Darn Concession Stand in the Land!!!

Hew mwtfan - I already told you it is the year of the IBUS, what more do you need to know. It's good to be missed - just back from Georgia and ready to share my IMAC thoughts. Not to mention - your dang concession stand. You owe me a steak from last year mwtfan - I'll catch you later.

TODAY'S PREDICTIONS

Greeneville at Cherokee

The new and improved Lady Devils travel to the Reservation to take on Chief Gilbert and the rest of the tribe. Certainly playing at a higher level - it is the new and improved Lady Devils - unfortunately, it is an old and reliable Gilbert. Lance's Loser: Greeneville (without scoring a run).

Jefferson at West

IMAC game of the day with the Red, White, and Blue travelling into the land of Maroon for important and colorful conference battle. West Florida sunshine somewhat tested but still a little unsure, but Jefferson is still trying to figure out which pitcher gives them the best opportunity to win. With that said, you can't find a pitcher against the high powered Trojans offense - you have to know in advance. Lance's Loser: Jefferson (pitching makes the difference)

All IMAC living up to early hype - keep it up.
