Thank you so much for posting this link for Oakland fans like me. I wasn't surprised that Chaisson would make an immediate impact as a freshman. HGis college choice was a wise one. He is an outstanding, unselfish player who thinks TEAM first. The only negative in this whole scenario is that I can no longer witness him playing every week!! BUT thoughtful fans like yourself can keep us posted of his stacking list of acomplishments! Way to make us all PROUD big Chaisson!!

What position did he play in high school? I saw him play the other day and it looked like he was playing point for Norteastern.

He played every position execpt post and could have done that. he played more of a true PG position when he ws a Sophomore.

I am surprised he ended up at Northeastern. He could have gone to a more competitive conference, but it looks like he is doing just fine.

Wow.

I didn't know the CAA wasn't a competitve conference. Thanks for letting me know that.

The reason Chase ISN'T in a more competitive league (ala ACC, SEC) is due to the fact he doesn't shoot the ball consistently well from the perimeter right now. That's why bigger programs didn't come calling. He's become better with his outside shot the last month and a half of the season, but he still has a way to go. I'm confident he'll be a consistent outside shooter by his junior year.

NU lost to George Mason in the quarterfinals of the CAA Tourney with just one senior this year (who didn't start). We have everyone back next year and NU will be one of the favorites for the CAA crown.

BTW, George Mason went to the Final Four and this year they're playing for the CAA Title vs. William & Mary tonight at 7pm on ESPN.

Didn't mean to offend you. I am actually very high on him. My post was meant to paint the picture that he could have gone to a "more" competiitve conference - as you mentioned in your next paragraph - like the SEC. He is good enough to play at that level. His shot is fine and I don't think him going to Northeastern had as much to do with that as it had to do with timing and possibly AAU experience. Even though the Mavericks did extremely well in the Super Showcase in Orlando his last year in AAU, I think he would have received moe exposure had he played with a more recognized team. This last year's Maverick's team - even with Jurick who signed with UT - was not well thought of on the circuit. Jurick wasn't even the best player on the team, but they still couldn't get respect.
