Dyer County vs Fulton

Fulton > DC in football.. sorry guys, can't be anything but truthful on that one.

DC had their chances, just couldn't get the buckets to fall..

Reminds me of the Lady 'Taws in substate a few years ago (33-1 season).. live by the 3, die by the 3.

You got it a bit messed up there ................ cause that team (girls 33 -1) had a true post type player & they took the ball there ! I might know who you are, but a certain #42 on that team was related to me ! Also there were a number of "chipshots that didn't fall & C.J.'s "treys" alone were enough to discredit the "die by the 3" part . The last shot in regulation wasn't a "3" just didn't fall. Fulton's "Beast on the Boards" was enough to make the difference in a game as close as this one ! Mason alone had 18 reounds ..................... 18 ! Too many "one & done" trips down the floor at the hands of Mr Mason !

I've VERY familiar with the girls from that year...I kept books when Coffman was in town /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> #42 was a great post player / rebounder. But they also had a guard that could bust a 3 from the half-court line it seemed.. that cracker box gym in Cordova just wasn't forgiving against Lexington.. Guard shot 1-18 from 3 land that game, if I remember right. (hence my comment)

The guys yesterday shot 7-34 from deep yesterday... That's just a tough pill to swallow.

Minor had 19 rebounds total according to the box score.. that's just dominating the glass.

Yup ! Factor in the "one & dones" @ the hands of Mr Minor (pardon me for sayin Mason) just flash backs from two dominant players in two consecutive games ! I remember well the Lexington game there in Cordova as well ! They couldn't get 'em to fall for sure ! I know the guard you're talkin about on the 33 - 1 team as well ! No fear from her even in the "NBA 3" area ! What a group of gals ! But back to the guys ! The opportunity in regulation was under the bucket or close according to what I heard ! Ususally what made this bunch the "Cardiac Kids" ! Did you make the game ?

It was a hard fought game and it ashame that someone haded to lose. When it came down to the end Fulton showed that they what the best condition team today. And for the real basketball fan freethrow is the key to winning tight games.

And Mr. Boyd /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> played an excellent game yesterday.. His pops taught him well..

My house is less than 30 minutes from the Murphy Center.. and where was I?

North Nashville.. at work. AAARRGHHHHH Listened on radio,

This time of year makes me miss my old apt in the 'boro.. could walk to the Murphy Center.. hahaha

The guys had their chances.. one big difference maker was Free Throw opportunities.. They had 28-37 and we had 6-11... 22 point difference from the line. That hurts.

Congrats to DC on a great season......Cheers to Fulton's team and coaching staff.....Jeers to about 25 to 30 of Fultons fans...If anyone was out in the smoking section after the game you will know what I'm talking about....all the way from the smoking section, to the DC buss, out to about 100 to 150 yards from the gym. Ask the DC cheer leaders...they were followed to the bus, the were taunted by these fans, some were actually pounding on the bus, then about 50 yards down from the bus they were taunting some DC fans....This after the cheer leaders got on the bus....I think three cop cars arrived on the scence...then about 4 campus police ( I think thats what they were). Saw one DC fan with her two children that looked scared..I asked if she wanted me and a friend of mine to walk her and her kids around this mob scene..she told me she was waiting on her husband...she probably didn't trust me because she didn't know me because I never saw her husband arrive. I stayed back about 30 to 40 yards and watched the end of this mess.....I'm serious....it looked like a mob...would be curious if any DC people on coacht were some of the fans that these vile disgusting taunts were directed at. I know for a fact that some Bolivar fans and players witnessed about half of this because they were outside when it all started....they were as disgusted as I was. This whole incident lasted about 30 minutes...good thing the police got there in time ( 2 police cars at first then they actually called for backup...friend of mine says their were 4 cop cars I only saw three..but that's beside the point). I know these type of situation are rare and I in no way direct this a all Fulton fans...but for these that done this I have NO RESPECT whatsoever for. I didn't hear every single word but I did watch this whole thing unfold from a distance of about 30 to 40 yards from begining to end. Am I the only one or were their others that saw this.

I am not from DC but I have followed this team as well as UC and Bolivar all season...so I am not a DC homer. But I am from Jackson and saw some really good games...this was the only bad expierence of my day and night in the BORO, and it was BAD.

I'm not an at all a Fulton fan however I was at the game showing my mutual respect for the East Tennessee team... Now I'm going to sit here and take up for them because you shouldn't have posted this on here. First of all, this all begun inside the gym when a group of 10 students from your school decided to come over to Fulton's section and sit beside the students and torture them. I mean, those Young Choctaws fans were cussing, calling Fulton players names, and just getting up all in the young Fulton fans faces. Yes, a cop had to come over there when their were reports of this then the cop got mad at one of the young fans(DC fan) sitting behind me and escorted him out all because he asked why he was over there. You know what, as we were taught as young kids, "It takes 2 to tangle!" Don??™t just get on here and point fingers at Fulton fans because of what you seen because your DC students were just as guilty.

That's my take on this situation........ Now take your lost and like a man/woman and cheer for the team that beat you...

All I can speak to is what is saw with my own two eyes and I have never seen such actions from fans in A LONG LONG TIME....AS A MATTER OF FACT I HAVE NEVER SEEN IT UNTIL YESTERDAY at a highschool game. DC had more fans than anybody and I didn't see them acting like an angry mob. Maybe some were out of hand ...I don't know...Like I said I can only speak for what I saw. Which was at least three cop cars and a hanful of cumpus police...I didn't see anything like that in the gym the whole entire day and night....Maybe I missed something but I think I would have noticed that. If you noticed in my original post I never said all Fulton fans...my thoughts were directed at ony abot 25 to 30.

Mitchell by 25+ and I am not from DC but I am from west tn.

Well I apologize I'm just getting sick and tired every time an East Tennessee team wins down at state, someone wants to get on here and post the negative thing instead of showing some love. Teens nowadays act like grown women and men. So there's no boundaries as into what they say or do around adults now adays... I was shocked at the words that were coming from those kids mouth...But its all good.. I'm still saying an upset by the Falcons..

    • No reasonable lawyer would take up this case. I am not a lawyer, but I know school law in and out.  Similar situations just like this play out thousands of times each year across the country, even at the college level (i.e. Ole Miss)  The Plaintiff's never win...ever.  If I am wrong, please provide a legal precedent for me. • It used to be, I think it still is, a change of 20% +/- gives reason to reclassify. Schools can choose to play up classifications but not down. Here is the mid cycle reclassification info on TSSAA.org When Memphis East changed from a regular public school to an "all-optional" school in 2017 the would've dropped to A but chose to stay in AAA in basketball (baseball, and softball) Penny was still coaching there and with the players they had they would've beaten A teams by 40 and slept walked to the championship. Other Memphis schools stayed in their classifications (mostly in basketball) until the next reclassification cycle. Of course this is the same time that a 4th class was added basketball.
