Football would be my guess...

 

Interesting theory which I have heard as well, but what I don't understand how other big H.S. football states like PA, TX... manage to work around this conflict.

 

Regarding the National Champion title, you do need to add "Spring" to the National Champions crown to bring the accomplishment into context. TN has very good teams and great players, but the other "fall" states have great teams and great players. The difference is clear; they just have a bigger pool of talent to pull from. The TN great players do not get the same visibility as the other "fall" soccer rich talent states do, therefore, limited D1 colleges spend time scouting talent in a football predominant state. We/TN still have a ways to go, but we??™re getting there.

uhh im sorry they beat TN high 2-1, what happened there...I reffed a TN high game and they are about as good as crockett so pick your battles son. plus i just saw south and central play, sorry but DB stands no chance and your also forgetting Science Hill is in that district.

 

 

Well it looks like you may have been a little off in your assesment of DB, looks like they are doing very well and some would say are the favourites in the NE this season.....

 

South have struggled losing to Central, Science hill and Morristown West last night 3-0 and play Oak Ridge tonight.

D.B. just played both Science Hill and Central, They beat Science Hill 6-3 and also beat Central 7-1. They are now ranked 9th in the state, I've picked my battles and so far so good.

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
