good point...I don't either.....but I have to be honest I lost sleep when UT beat my TIGERS!!!! thats insane but true /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> GO TIGERS!!!!!!

The coaches for the game were announced Tuesday and the rosters will be released in two weeks.

 

SS coach said he didn't have the rosters yet...but that the big timers would be playing.We all know who they are.

 

This is what the godfather posted on Feb. 2

The 2008 Golden Circle All-Star games will be played at Liberty Tech High School on Saturday May 31, 2008. Ballots have been sent to each coach in West Tennessee outside the Memphis area. Ballots are to be returned by March 17, 2008. This year "Coach T" members can participate by posting their nominations on this thread. "Coach T" list will be combined with the coaches ballots for the selection committee. Team Coaches will select 13 North girls, 13 South girls, 13 North boys, and 13 South boys during the first week of April. Nominated players can only be 2008 graduating seniors. North and South teams are selected by using Jackson and I-40 as the dividing line.

If some one is on the list that is not a senior, they will not be on the coaches list.

Tony Wilkins and Demarius Williams are not on the coacht list but I would bet anything they will play. I underlined the ones that I think are a lock to play in this game. I think we can all pretty much figure it out if we put out heads together.

 

I think these players will be in the three point contest. I don't know who else..who knows!!!

What does everybody think?Who should be added or taken off the list? I don't see anybody on here with a 40+ vertical /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> What are the thoughts on the slam dunk contest? I know most of these kids can dunk..but the 360's and stuff I don't know if any can do that.

Ricky Taylor, Tony Wilkins , and Montero Crisp are three I think will be in it.

I agree that the slam dunk contest might not be all its cracked up to be because none of these kids are able to be the flashy type dunkers or the 6'7 power-jam type you expect in a contest of this nature. It should be interesting nonetheless however. The three-point contest should be more interesting with kids that can flat light it up from behind the arc. There should be plenty of participants in that contest if certain players make the team. I struggle to make a team out from this list of players simply because I'm confused on if all Jackson teams are on the South team or just certain ones below the I-40 line. Also, it depends on whether or not the coaches want to equally represent thier regions and limit the number of players from one team or go with their gut.

 

And for clarification, the teams won't be announced for a couple weeks? Because when the coaches were first announced here on CoachT I thought that that meant this week, my apologies for misinterpreting the matter.

I think they will pick the best seniors and if one side dosen't have enough from nort or south some players might switch sides to fill out the rosters..I may be wrong but I think they did it that way a couple of years ago...who knows!!! The best players should be the only ones that make it in my opinion, regardless of district. This particular season the North has more talent than the South. If DC and UC both represent the North they will win...Blake, Kimble, D. Taylor, MJ, Wilkins, Geanes can all run you out of the gym... R. Taylor, Holt, Rhodes, and D. Williamson will be the best for the South. Torstrick will be the tallest of all at 6'8. It will be a very entertaining game ..run and gun.

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
