Bottom line is those kids are team mates. Any kid that could do that to someone on their own team is a bad apple. The way he hit that kid showed that he has some problems and the intent was there to hurt him badly. He shouldn't be allowed to play another down anywhere. Also this was during school f so where is the supervision of the coach? Shouldn't he have some questions to answer as well? If I was the boys parents who got hit could you smell lawsuit?

"shouldn't be allowed to play another down anywhere" haha what's wrong are you afraid his QB skills are going to hurt your team? They were in the lockeroom getting ready for weight lifting. Does your coach watch yall get dressed? If so i would be more worried about your coach then there's. An the kids parents would be stupid to file a lawsuit. Its the kid that got punched fault just as much as it was greeneways. They were just playing around thats it. then the news paper blew it WAY out of proportion by throwing there own twist on it. Both kids made a bad decision, one paid with a broken jaw, an the other paid with the rest of the year in ALP an getting kicked off the baseball team. kids will be kids

I agree, You can't blame the coach. Kev? Do you think he will be back even with his track record? IF I was the coach, I would cut him loose not because of this but because this would at least be his third chance. We all deserve a second but not a third. Take football out of the equastion, it may wake him up for the rest of his life and correct his behavior. I am sure his backup has not been kicked off and then put in ALP. Give the guy who does not do these thing a chance to shine. The one problem in HS and college sports is that a good athelete gets TOOOOOO many chances. A student athelete has to live up to a certain standard and if they prove they can not then they should no longer be a student athelete but rather a student.JMO.

IMO they will let him back. Greeneville is getting new turf an im sure they want there star QB there to help make it look good. I dont think taking sports away from him is the best way to solve problems, cuz yeah it hurts him but it would hurt the team just as much if not more. I think coach Mc needs to stay after practice with him an let him do a little extra running. Kicking him off the team will not make him or the team better but running him will.

I'm not worried a bit about his qb skills. He has puffed up to where he won't be near as effective as he was last season. Wonder how he got so big so fast and has all these anger issues??? I wonder. If he is allowed back on that team he will just tear them appart. I wouldn't block for someone like that. And no my coach doesn't watch us get dressed but there is someone in the locker room. It is a weight training "class" if I am not mistaken. If this happened in a math class and the teacher was outside the room I guess you think that is ok as well. And two kids playing around please. I don't believe someone getting there jaw broken by a punk is considered playing around. He has shown he is a constant problem. This makes god only knows how many times he has been put in ALP. Is it really worth it keeping someone like that around?

I believe that Jordan needs help. Dealing with all he has had to deal with in the past couple of years is just too much for a young man to handle. I think that he needs a new start and this would be without any sports at the high school level. He can play traveling baseball and maybe that will give him enough exposure to fill his ego. I hope the school, coaches, and administration think about this situation and make the right decision. This will set a president for things to come.

I bet you never seen anyone get hurt from horseplaying have you. Jordan isn't bigger now than he was in football season. He is actually faster than he was in the fall. Have you ever messed up? By no means was Jordan right for doing what he did, but it happened. Do you know him personally? Are you even from Greeneville?

Not from Greeneville just know a lot of people from the area and have competed against greeneville for 2 years now. Yes I know him, not real well but with what I seen didn't want to get to know him any better. Yes I have been hurt horsing around but by no means did someone walk up to me and rare back with all they had and punch me in the face either. If you seen the film and call that horseing around you have a warped view of playing around. A broken jaw playing around, I think not. I agree he needs help but putting him in alp (which hasn't worked for him in the past) is not the help he needs. Bad choice after bad choice sooner or later will catch up to him. I know he has had a rough past but how long can you keep letting that be his excuse. People have had it much worse and done much better.

Personalities such as Greenway are looking for someone bigger, badder, and smarter than they are so they have somebody to look up to...otherwise they look up to themselves. He lost his mentor correct? It was his brother correct? This is where a coach earns his keep. Greenway has D1 ability. So as a coach what do you do? Let him go? Or saddle break him? What's in it for the coach? Well, how many D1 QB's are going to go through Greeneville? I've seen it happen at South and in my opinion it is a crime to let such potential slip through the cracks. Coaches are not Gods but sometimes with a little help from the MAN miracles can be achieved. The flip side...is sooner or later someone (himself or another) will really get hurt bad...bad enough to where everyone will lament that somebody should have helped him. It's what life is about.

....snipped....... Well, how many D1 QB's are going to go through Greeneville? ....................snipped.......

I think it's a bit premature to call him a D-1 QB at this point. He was a good quarterback in a bad conference. I love East Tennessee football, but face it, other than Maryville, we've consistently had our tail handed to us at the 4A and 5A levels. You have to go back a long way to find D1 talent at QB for Greeneville.

DeBusk could have played D1, in my opinion. Before him, Andy Moon signed with Alabama, but he was not given consideration as a QB. He was extremely talented, and if I remember correctly, was seeing time as a WR before falling to injury. Cody Baugh put up some gaudy numbers that erased many of Frankie's records, but was only mediocre at best for Tusculum.

Greenway is a good athlete, but to call him a D1 quarterback at this stage is a pipe dream. For anyone that watched Sullivan South's win over the Devils in the playoffs last year, they got to see a D1 quarterback. I was impressed at Curt Phillips' arm and body strength, and speed combined with his good size.

You must have not seen the first game between south an greeneville.

    • They should be pretty good in year two for Rang.  Replacing most of the offensive production losing Dozier, Hayward and Rembert , but they're are skill kids in place ready for their shot.  I know I say this every year, but the o line should show improvement after two years in Rang and Kevin Day's weight program.  I still would favor West over Plow and OR come November.  The Rebs will have to grow up a bunch between now and then, and will probably take some lumps along the way with that schedule.  But I predict come playoff time they will be ready.   One of their coaches half joked to me that they could go 5-5 regular season and win the state championship.  Ha ha.
    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
