How about five teams in a row with more than 10 wins each last year each? How about the #'s 3 and 15 in the Nation? How about having to play a team with 8 or the top 100 players in a state with 35 million people? How about having to face 2 of the top ten quarterback recruits in the national list posted here this am, that are in your league, but not in the first five above? How about travelling 6 hours one way by air, how about travelling 4 hours one-way by air? How about facing a team that averages 300lbs. per man up front? That same team has its entire state het up for your demise in Aloha Stadium of all places. How about the pressure of keeping a 125 game win streak alive? How about old geezers like me having trouble remembering how Amani Toomer(NYG) couldn't pull out a win in 1991 so the streak would be 160!?

You are talking about Concord right??? Since I am a Poly fan I hope they get spanked down in Hawaii, but since this is a TN HS site I bet the topic is hardest Schedules in TN.

64tnchamp,

What is your relationship with DeLaSalle in Concord, CA.? I used to live a few miles from DeLaSalle several years ago and had the pleasure of watching them play.

******

I've been a fan for 20 years...see lots of "big" games nationally each year...lived in Monterey and Lake Tahoe, currently in Rosxell, GA and Maui. Played in alumni game for Aptos High vs. Santa Cruz in '94 (as a 47yr-old), but played for Dobyns-Bennett in '63,'64. Going to DB-Maryville scrimmage Friday--let's get a beer. PS Calig'...DLS is the standard for any program, kids need to have something to shoot for, especially after the ######-kicking in Long Beach last year by the No.1, DeLaSalle Spartans! :D

Who makes the schedule for Boyd Buchanan, a sadistic sicko?

Try this:

Rhea County (traditional AAAA power)

East Ridge (won Chattanooga AAAA region last year including defeat of defending state champ Red Bank)

Whitwell (won its region last year)

Franklin Road Academy (traditional A power)

Copper Basin (tough region foe)

Ezell Harding (defending state champ in class A)

Lookout Valley (school's biggest rival in most sports)

Oliver Springs (won their AA region last year, I think)

South Pittsburg (one of the strongest A programs in the state -- semifinalist last year)

David Lipscomb (perennial AA power)

An argument could be made that this is the toughest class A schedule in the state. I know this is debatable, but it certainly is one of the toughest.

It is a tough schedule, but you're wrong about OS. OS started out 6-0, and finished 7-3 (6-4?) and finished 4th in their region after losing to Wartburg in week 10.

Thanks for the correction on Oliver Springs. I know they were a tough, physical team for Boyd Buchanan last year. I will stick with my contention that BBS has as tough a schedule as anyone in class A in Tennessee.

Don't know if Sequatchie had been mentioned yet since I couldn't see past the latest page..But they play Grundy a 3A region champ, Whitwell, a 1A region champ, East Ridge, a 4A region champ, and South Pittsburg a 1A semifinalist last year. Region games against maybe the two favorites, Tyner and Meigs are both on the road.

there is no argument in this issue. the 4 top teams in region 4 5a face a tough, tough, and i mean a tough schedule. in the public sector, these are the four best teams in the state, period. furthermore, not one member on this site can question the validity of this claim. also, i've said it once and i'll say it again, blackman will take honors this year in 5a, period.

    • Jason Lambert should be the only choice for the Baseball coaching position.
    • From the stats I found online it looks like Gabe Eddington- .484, 44 total hits, 43 runs scored and 42 stolen bases.Meanwhile, on the mound, the Austin Peay commit had a record of 8-2, while compiling 50 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.82. Carson Parrott - 7-0 overall as a starting pitcher with a 1.41 ERA, 95 strikeouts and a save in 53 and 1/3 innings pitched. Parrott hit .392 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs with a .566 OBP and .716 SLG. Jaxon Walker - .454, 53 hits, 38 RBI’s, 9 HRs.   Not saying the other three aren’t deserving but Quillen had better BA than all three and was just as dominate pitching.  Like I said I don’t know how you leave off the 3a Baseball player of the year last year when he put up better numbers.  I know Greeneville’s Coach wasn’t happy about it saying “I don’t give a s*** what anybody else says. That kid is the best player in Tennessee, and everybody else on our team rises to his level“.  I’m sure winning another State Championship as a junior is more important to Carson than the individual award, it’s just a head scratcher to not be nominated
    • What coach in their right mind would want to come here and set theirself on fire to keep her warm.
    • Shoulder not going to the #### show .   Macon will name the score this year.
    • Plenty of time. The former coach was busy with family and disappeared all summer anyway. Obvious choice has the same family issues. First game is in March 2025.
