regit
I THINK MACON CO. AND SMITH CO. GOT THE BETTER END OF THE COACH SWAP. SEEING HOW G'VILLE GOT BUSH AND MACON GOT GOOLSBY AND SMITH CO. GOT COACH A.
renegade4ever
old chs man , the monkey in jr. high did better with the seniors of 2001 than the monkey they got now. I think you need to keep your home boys at home. Coach Goosbly played under Rankin and coach the way that he had learn under Rankin. I guess you didn"t like Coach Rankin either!! QueenBee
Rankin and Goolsby...never in the same sentence...In no way did Goolsby coach like Rankin...
choirboy
Don't bad mouth Bush too much. Smith County wanted him real bad if for nothing else than to coach the softball team next year. As for Goolsby, he was done dirty by the powers that be on the hill and everyone knows it. That's why he left.
QueenBee
Will Bush be coaching the team at Gordansville?...Cause SCHS has their man...Coach Dodgen will be coaching the Lady Owls
Antwan
Queenie, You are so right. Dodgen is the man to lead the Lady Owls to the next level. We are very fortunate to have him here at SC. He is very impressive!
heydaddy
Outsiders have no idea what really goes on inside a program from day to day. Goolsby was not "run off" by the powers that be. He made a decision based on his needs along with that of his family. SCMS is blessed to have Coach A back, another coach not "run off". His decision to leave was his own I can assure you. Talent levels in middle schools vary so much from year to year no one coach can be blamed or exlated based on thier record. You play with what you got as the saying goes. Coach Gentry worked tirelessly with the Junior High team for three years with an all volunteer staff. Facts are an important part of anything. Unless you are involved directly with a situation it would be hard to pass judgement on Goolsby, Gentry or anyone else in the SCHS program. He will do his best at MCHS, Gentry will excell as a High School coach and Coach A is home again. It's about the kids anyway.

Antwan
You are right, from what I have heard, that Coach Ford was forced out. You are not right that Anderson was. He left Smith County for more money. He had the job for as long as he wanted it. I don't know all the details on Coach Ford, but his memory is well respected in this part of the County. I don't know about GordAnsville(that's really how to spell it). I would guess so because the field is named for him. He was a good football coach and more importantly a good person, as is Anderson.
