Sequoyah SID
SWildcat1967, it probably was the same game. It was the year Sweetwater jumped out quick and forced several turnovers. I think, (I might be wrong), the score ended up 44-28. It seemed a lot worse than what the score ended up. Brad Cagle, the Blomstroms, Berrong, Mason, Latham, Nisha, Ferguson and many others had exceptional games. That same year, Sweetwater gave Alcoa fits for a half. The paper was holding the main front page until the end of the third quarter. Had Sweetwater beat Alcoa that night, it would probably had been the first time a sports story would have made the front page of our paper. warchief
Get ready to enjoy a great atmosphere Chiefs fans. I was up there a few years ago and really enjoyed it (except for the cold, it was a playoff game). I think for the most part, you will find the G-P fans hospitable. Concessions were pretty good too. Your right it is a good atmosphere. I remember going up there in 99 to watch the chiefs play. It was a great game! Sequoyah was down late in the game after GP had scored to go up by 4 points. On the ensuing kick off nathan Bracket was off to the races. The chiefs won the game 14 - 11.

torseq2
Jv went to visit the Highlanders 2 years ago in a very heavy rain. It was a mud bowl, Chiefs where up late in the 4th 13-10 the landers Scored with apx. :47sec. on the clock and got the JV win 16-13 it was a great game and I know the kids from both side loved playing in the mud. Looking forward to another trip up to the top of our East Tn. world. Go to Gatlinburg take a left when you hit the clouds go back 1/2 mile and you are there. slobber knocker
In all fairness, White wasn't the only one cramping up. Several cramped up throughout the course of the game. Careful slobber, your last few posts have almost sounded positive. LOL!!! Your right SID, he wasn't the only one cramping. In last weeks game I think he was cramping up to much for the extra carries. This week may be different though. Do you guys keep up with each teams time of posession? I would like to know the stats too.

Trey to this day still talks about that one. He had mud in places never seen before. Could be a sloppy field again. Who does a sloppy field favor? monroecountyfan9
I don't know much about GP this year but i do know that their field is one of the best places in East Tennessee to watch a high school football game-can't wait til Thursday. Hope to see another good performance from our offense and i beleive our defense will improve. Go Chiefs!!
Sequoyah SID
bigc, slobber, I don't keep stats anymore, I just spot for the announcer at home games. Dan Russell (I think that's his name) is the statistician. You might want to ask him for a copy of his stats. Not sure what all he keeps up with, but it looked pretty detailed Friday night. I am going to try to get a copy of the stats from Friday night, and if I can get this program to work on my computer, I will start trying to keep up with them from week to week. If I am able to, I will start posting them on here after the games. Good luck to the Chiefs Thursday night and remember to support the youth league of your choice. Congrats to the Vonore Hoppers (28-14 winners over Loudon). Kayne Roberts had 294 yards rushing. Also congrats to Madisonville Cutters (14-6 over Polk County) and Juniors (22-14 over Polk County in overtime). This Saturday Madisonville travels to Riceville and Vonore hosts Central. maj
What should we expect from GP? For those that don't know the game has been moved to Thursday night! Go Chiefs! Wishing Coach S well in his new endever but good thoughts won't beat a better team. GP by 28 42 + to
redwhite
Looking forward to going up to the game. This will be a tough one for the Chiefs. GP will be a better team then what we saw this past Friday. Our "D" is going to have to play alot better. From what I hear thier QB is really good, throws the ball well. And you know they will pound the ball alot thats just GP football, thier coach loves to run the ball. Our Defensive line has got to step it up and play better, stop the run & put pressure on the QB. Think GP will be 1 of the 4 toughest teams on our schedule. The other 3 being Central. Howard, & Polk. The offense needs to put up some points & if the "D" can make some big plays at the right times this will be a good game. GO CHIEFS!
