Gibson Co. @ TCA

As an observer of TCA's performance against Manassas, I have to say it is getting kind of old to constantly read on here nothing but JW comments. It's as if there are never 10 other players on the field. Maybe, he had 4 good plays against Manassas but he certainly was not the reason TCA won. It will at some point become dishearting to the other players on that team who work just as hard if not harder than Washington, to constantly hear how they are just pawns, not just on this site but read the Jackson Sun as well. Not taking anything away from him as a player but, wow. Was I the only one at that game?

I definitely agree with you. Jabriel is going to be a very special player, but it always takes a team to win the game.

After the Manassas game, I look for this TEAM to be more ready to do with the growing up that took place on the field.

If everything you do is centered around one player, your game plan has assumed a significant amount of risk.

One player can be a play maker though! For instance, in 2005 Gibson Co. was playing at Obion Co. and Antoine Cunningham ran for 375 yards and 7 td's which turned out to be every TD for GC in that game. The final of that game was 48-47 in favor of Gibson Co. One player can make a difference although it comes on rare occurrences. If you adjust your defensive scheme to stopping one player then that player is already making a difference by not doing anything besides being apart of the team. With your focus on 1 player it opens up opportunities for other players. One player can make a difference although a team is much needed to be a GOOD team.

ALOT!

QB, Matt Smith, Sophomore

RB, Chase Arnold, Sophomre

WR, Casie Ivie, Junior

FB, Jake Hill, Senior

WR, Sherrod Johnson, Junior

WR, Cody Carpenter, Senior

All the skill players

We return our whole OLine except for 1 player.

On defense we lost a few but we return alot as well! Our biggest lost would be RB Antoine Cunningham but we replace him with Sophomore Chase Arnold and believe it or not Chase has a faster 40 time than Antoine at a 4.4. This team will be quicker than last year for sure. We have 3 players running 4.4 40's in Sherrod, Chase, and Cody.

That's alot of speed. How big are these three kids?

These aren't absolute stats but Chase is about 5'11 180, Sherrod is about 6'0 185, Cody is about 5'10 180...Their all 3 about the same size.

If Chase and Sherrod keep working hard and keep improving by getting bigger and and stronger as well as keeping their speed they will wind up playing college football at the next level. I'm glad to know we still have Sherrod for another year after this year and Chase for 2 more years after this year!

In my mind the best team who came through GC was that team and it was 2006 he did that GCP but the reason the record was not what it should have been was because we relied on anotone to do to much if you center your game plan around one plyer yea it will work for a few games but when good coaches look at gamefilm they will put a stop to that they will start stacking the box and make it harder for that one person to do anything so you have to have a balanced team that is where the coaches messed up at GC that year I mean they had the size the speed they had almost everything to be a playoff contender but bad coaching cost that im glad they got coach dyer i believe the coaching staff that is there now is the best choice for them
