South Pittsburg Gym

I tried to go to the open house of the new gymnasium the other day but found out it wasnt open house after all.

They were actually having a dinner or something for the boosters or people or businesses that donated almost $90,000 to fund extra things in the new gym. Also heard that one of the board members was highly aggitated that they were having that, but have yet to even say a nice thank you to the ones that made it possible to even build it.

I am just wondering if those same donaters would give that much to put extra books or more computers or learning technology into the same school. Probably not but it cant hurt to ask.

That is pure BS and you are simply lying....plain ole sour grapes. The doors were wide open to any and all. Quite a few of the board members were there. Actually part of the donated money went to the classrooms downstairs as well as upgrades in the gym. Whitwell got their school...which was needed and the others got their projects done...which were needed. The sales tax collected in South Pittsburg paid for the Gym and along with what was collected in Kimball most of the other projects too. Whitwell could have never payed for their school from the sales tax collected in Whitwell. Get your facts straight and get over it!

I wish David and Beth and their troops the best in their new home. I can only imagine how hard it has been the last couple of years, having to play all your games away from home.
