Why was CA not ready to play against Cully????? I would have thought they would have been up for that game....what was the deal????

 

 

I am not really sure why they weren't. It just felt like there wasn't any intensity on the court from them and then not being able to hit their shots and getting in a big hole early didn't help. Every team has its bad nights so i'm glad CA got one of theirs out of the way before the tournaments start.

The Holt kid is not a BIG time scorer; however, he has hit several 3's considering he usually didn't shoot outside of 10 ft. before this season. Teams have really sagged off of him and he has been able to knock down some 3's. As for tonight, Cornersville is at Culleoka. I believe if Cornersville sags off of Holt like they did last time, he will hit at least 2 3's. I'm taking the Warriors by 12+ in what I hope is an exciting game!!

Culleoka in a weird game. Stephens gets multiple technicals. Cornersville's offense stiffled. Culleoka has long droughts of no scoring. Win by 25. This was the most exciting game that was extremely boring. This game was not very entertaining until sparks started to fly. Stephens lost his head and suffered the consequences.

 

CA losing is a huge shock. What happened there? Huntland beats Santa Fe by narrow margin. This was a weird and wild night of basketball to say the least.

Full moon? Are the planets in flux? Friday night was wild............ What happened to CA? And what happened to Moore Co? Cully Twins don't get the ball passed to them when under and open. Upshaw is HOT.......he is looking awesome both offensively and defensively.

And for the record, someone needs to tell these young people that you do not start an argument with the person holding the gradebook, the whistle, or the paycheck. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blush:" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />

I guess Stephens will be out the next 2 games.

 

He will be out for AT LEAST the next 2 games. The ref charged him with 3 techs, if that is even possible...That game was one of the worst officiated games I have ever seen. Darnell fouled out early in the 4th , Stiles played most of the 4th with 4 fouls, Stepens was ejected and everytime someone hit the floor there was a charge called.

 

In defense of Stephens, if a ref had smiled at me when he called a walk on me (after calling a couple "double dribbles" and a couple of QUESTIONABLE fouls on me, all in the last 2 mins) I would have probably done the exact same thing.

Will there be a "fine" issued to Culleoka because of the techs or is there such a policy? If so, does anyone know how it is structured?

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
