Cornersville's guard play will be their deciding factor. They can compete against most of the team's at guard except Culleoka and CA. The Williams' kid at CA is a huge difference maker against most team's in this district. As for Richland, I have not seen much of their key players play the last few years. They have three players that have had significant playing time, Emerson #34, Edwards #52, and Newton #12. I don't really see them making a push to the top.

Dont know much about this district other than I have seen Culleoka and they look like a dominant team again. I have also seen Richland and talked to friends who have scrimmaged them. I would not overlook them at all. They looked pretty solid to me. I think they are one of those teams that nobody seems to be talking about and that will sneak up you. As far as the other teams in this district Im not sure about them.

Cascade is making a push for a football state championship!!!!

why is it suprising...what has any team in the district done to prove they can hang with culleoka...nothing...therefore its a complete tossup...and richland isnt worth the price of admission this year

What information do you have that no one esle seems to have? Or is it because it is Richland? They return 3 players with significant playing time from last seasons team. They also have a deep bench in Jones, Tinnon, Wallace, and more. Plus I have heard a rumor that they have picked up a kid who didn't play last season that is back for his senior season. Still looking for hard facts but I hope the Blazin' 3 Baller is back!!

Richland could surprise some teams depending on how well they play together. They have a lot of key players who haven't had much playing experience. As for the rumor, are you talking about Blayze Parsons? I thought he had given up basketball for baseball. He was a good outside shooter when left open. He would be a much needed addition to that team.

But that's the beauty of the start of a season, you start out undefeated and have a lot of hope. Who knows, they may surprise some people. Look at the Titans! Who expected them to go 10-0! Good Luck to all!

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
