Same with Henry County. They're good, but they are clearly beatable. But I'm not acting like Rossview is the best team in the state right now, because they aren't. Never said they were unbeatable, just said that they were the better team in the earlier season matchup. That may change tonight, and if it does, then we'll go from there. And I'm not here to put down Henry County as I said before. They are a really good team, and they have a chance to make it far in the district/region, as does Rossview. Should be an interesting rest of the year.

The unbeatable part of my post wasn't directed to you, it was in response to some guy from earlier.

Ok before anyone says anything, understand that everyone is going to have their own story as to what happened, so it's very likely that things are going to be told that aren't actually accurate. I wouldn't believe everything you hear.

There was an ugly scene that broke out at the conclusion of the game, and it was honestly really sad to see people behave that way.

From what I've concluded, 2 HC fans that I won't name were arrested. Then, after HC won, some jawing occured. Now I've heard that a player from HC was hit in the face, and from what I've heard it was a coach that did that. After that, all %*#* broke loose. Is that semi-accurate, Clutch? In all honesty I wasn't at the game but have heard the story 3 times and it's all been around that general consensus.

Ok this is pretty much how it happened without the words I wanna use and tellin ppls names. First the refs were absolutely horrible. I'm sure TSSAA will be gettin the film from this game. Its kinda what started the whole thing. In the second half there was a horrible call and some of our fans got upset cuz it was happenin all night. The police came to escort them out. One of the fans said for what and the police officer grabbed him and escorted him out with a lot of force for no reason. That made our fans upset. And it also got the players into the game. Well after we won one of our players was hit in the face. And then a fan kept pushin him and gettin in his face so he went after him. And they had ppl pullin them apart well our players familys were gettin mad cuz the police didn't do anything so they went out there. And everybody was goin after everybody. But the only person arrested was from henry county. And he was mased and took out in hand cuffs for tryin to break up the fight. It was the worst refs I've ever seen, the worst I've ever seen grown men and women act, and the worst I've seen police act towards ppl. It was just horrible. I'm just glad we got the win and got out safe.

From another bised HC fan. The clarksville finest did a very poor job of handling the situation. The fan that was forced out the door was asked to sit down or he would be removed, he suggested that he would have to be removed because he was not going to sit. With the entire Rossview student section standing, who can blame him. He apparently got smart with the cop and the cop beign billy bad ###### forced him out physically. There was no resistance from the fan but the cop in my opinion should have calmly handled the situation. It was ridiculous. As for the after game situation, I saw some very aggressive Rossview folks and HC folks, and from what I am hearing, there was some mouthing between both parties and a Rossview player shoved the HC palyer, and then the assistant coach apparently slapped the HC player twice (I did not see it, but rumor has it that a HC players mom had it on video) I will say this, if the assitant coach part is true, then he should be banned from Tennessee high schools sporting events and even working around young people. What I will say is that I did see this coach being very aggressive and the cops did not offer at him at all, The HC fan that did get arrested was responding to the slapping of our player that the cops did not respond to.

With all of this said and several folks handling this situation terribly. THe officials were awful all night, girls game and guys game, that is something that both parties have agreed on as I talked with several Rosssview fans after the game.

Rossview is nothing but pure trash. point blank and simple. what them officers did to that young man is a disgrace to the whole department and I can gurantee you that cop will be relieved of his duties and sued for everything he's worth for his actions. that was pure ridiculous. then that Rossview coach DID assault our player. He will have charges filed against him too. Rossview is pure trash and will be reprimanded from the TSSAA, I can gurantee you that.

Yes very accurate. I hope the players mom got a video cuz not only should he be banned but be arrested. Our fan was arrested without touching anyone. The whole situation was horrible. I've been sayin it for 2 years about the refs. They want all the attention on them. TSSAA needs to do somethin about it before this happens again.

This is why things are going to get blown completely out of proportion. To say that the assistant coach from Rossview "slapped the HC player twice" is completely false. While I didn't see everything that was happening at that very second, he did not slap the player twice, I can tell you that for sure. The referees were horrible from start to finish, and the game got out of hand quickly. Cheap shots were thrown all the over the place, and the refs never got a hold of the game. Things occurred during the handshake after the game which led to the eventual scuffle, but to repeat, a coach did not "slap" a player.

It was just completely sad to see people handle themselves the way they did tonight, and if this is what high school basketball has come to, it's absolutely ridiculous.

EDIT: And after seeing the posts that were entered while I was posting this one, you people clearly have your version of the story. So this will turn into a pointless argument since everyone thinks they know the complete truth.

I was at the game and one of the coach's striked James Dumas in the head..this is absolutly ridicilous for Rossview and with that coach striking our player this caused all the problems..Rossview are just dirty nasty people that have no respect and everytime I have been at a Rossview game the fans and plays think they are hot ****

Sir, to have been at the game you sure missed a lot. to not state how ridiculous the actions were of the policeman escorting out the young man is simply irresponsible. that cop used way to much unneccessary force against a person who was not fighting back the least little bit. That is beyond ridiculous. So sir start stating facts. and Yes the Rossview assistant coach DID assualt our player. so get your facts straight buddy before your start spewing lies.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
