mosier comes readt to play for this big one!!!! with him finally healthy he has a big game against a tough dburg defense!!! AL LEWIS got released this week will he play maybe maybe not not sure if pratt wants to get him a week or so of practice before he plays but could be interesting if he could contribute somehow!!! i think the game will be decided by how well crockett d tacklles in space!!! should be a great game!!!!

Even when the Cavs had one of their best teams ever, and at full strength, 3 or 4 years ago, they only managed to beat an average Counts squad by a touchdown. Anyone who believes this will be more than a one touchdown affair, one way or the other, needs to stay far away from the casinos. Counts and Pratt are two of the best high school coaches in the state, both from a strategy standpoint, and their ability to motivate and get the most out of their players. Both teams will be super charged and ready to go to war. It'll be another nail biter. You can count on it!

 

 

An average squad? that squad as juniors went 10-0, had a region championship and blew Crockett Co out in Dyersburg on Homecoming! Then as seniors they went 12-2 and to the state semis but they did lose to crockett in Alamo and had just as much or more talent.

 

The big running backs name was Jarvis Perry and the two Johnson twins were in the backfield with him. All three signed with martin but I do not believe the twins are still there. Can anyone clarify that because I did not see them on the ut martin roster?

Maybe I should have said a "normal squad." I think that 12-2 team was 9-1 in regular season with the lone loss being at CC. An average squad for Dyerburg IS 9-1 or 8-2 IMO. Thanks for the correction on Jarvis Perry. The young man was a load and one heck of a athlete.

Shaun went to the airforce and Ron is playin basketball at Jackson state next semester unless he goes somewhere else. and the Crockett team that beat dburg in alamo were up 21-0 and dburg scored with a minute left in the half. Crockett came out the second half a little too confident and let dburg score again. it could have very easily been a blowout. the final was 28-14 CC. and the year before that in dburg, ron johnson couldnt play bc of a collarbone injury and the star players were juniors then.

Jarvis Perry was the big fullback...The Johnson Twins were the other backs....Great team...Rated #1 until Perry screwed up his knee....Dyersburg had Caldwell, Rashad Taylor, JT Beasley, Cody Tettleton, Trey Vernon, Beau L, John Butler...and all of these are playing at the next level with the exception of Caldwell who Coach Counce said was one of the best IF Not the best "I' back he had ever coached...I was at that game....it was 21 -14 in the fourth quarter and Dyersburg was driving when Rashad Taylor was picked off...The db was knocked out of bounds on about the 15.....Crockett scored with less than a minute to go and made it 28 -14.....PA Pratt is a DISCIPLE of John W. Tucker and he made the statement to a friend of mine in Milan..."BEFORE PERRY GOT HURT...WE WERE ROLLING"...NOBODY COULD BEAT US"...And I truley believe if he hadn't got hurt that they might have won it all that year...Dyersburg ended up in the semi's....and lost to David Lipscomb...

 

Should be a great game tonight...The two best coaches in the region...IMO...go head to head...Don't think it will be a BLOW OUT either way...Just hope Dyersburg isn't looking PAST this bunch for next week.....Cause we all know what that is...Don't think Coach Counce will let that happen....GO TROJANS!...

I believe that Covington was the team that won that game in the second round. Dyersburg beat Covington in the Quarterfinals the next week by a close margin (7-0 I believe) to move on to the Semi's.

This was a great game! One of the best i've seen in awhile. Both teams played very well. But I think it should've went the other way...I dont know what the ref was thinking when P.A. called a timeout with 2 sec left and didnt give it to him. That was ridiculous. Im not dissing Dburg because they played great, i just think the game shouldve went the other way and if you dont agree you're mistaking. But congrats to dburg.
